I thought it was a nice feature when you put the camera 100 meters downstream recently. I think most viewers would like to see what happens when the dam is released downstream.

Could not agree more.. when i saw that awesome camera angle i wondered if it was a suggestion from the comments or his own idea. Not that it matters, im just curious. Now if he has a buddy with a drone he could follow the tidal wave (from behind so we can always see what the wave hits next) all the way down! 😅 i love these videos lol

Hi Mantas, I believe it’s quite challenging to make a dam with such a width and boundary conditions entirely collapsing at same time (if no charges involved). Appears like you kept the part next to the bush (i.e. to the left when looking upstream) bit stronger, whereas you’ve weakened the part in the middle bit more than the others. So it is expected the middle goes down first accordingly. That’s one part of the puzzle and explanation, and easy to say when watching from overview camera 😉. Btw, is it same location as for `Top 1 collapse? Flooded road!´ clip, just bit more upstream? What follows next can be explained by physics: before the break-down, there’s only static pressure on the dam, which could be distributed almost equally across the dam. However, with the first breach opened, gravity takes over. Water on surface level accelerates since it wants and does go to lower level now. Velocity comes along with higher impulse and energy, thus putting even more pressure on the weak link of the chain. Other effect is inertia: the accelerated water doesn’t easily change its direction. Means once water flow is established, it’ll mostly go in main direction - with the ditch behind being the main reservoir and in direct line. Finally, the mud block from the middle turned to the left, blocked and even retained water. This put some pressure to the remaining dam but now from downstream which helped to stabilise it against the water pushing against the dam from upstream.

At least it's not just is in UK that gets plenty of rain , where Mantis is they also get more hot dry weather than UK. Upsetting the beavers is really good though. 😅 😂

Do you check downstream first before you remove a damn? If there's another dam downstream, seems like it would ad to the flooding. So I assume you start downstream and work your way up if there's many on the same chanel.
