Transitioning into manga reading (first one woohoo) after season 2 finished, i was getting pretty let down by the power sets of the culling games. Nothing seemed interesting, and Takehba was almost the straw that broke the camels back... But this fight made me actually cackle like a madman, outloud. I was so sad when it finished, and it completely reinvigorated my love for the property. I am 100% more excited for this fight to be animated than anything else in the manga right now. I really hope they keep all the amazing references. Flipping a page to see kenny dressed up as bandit keith was the highlight of 2023 for me.

I like your sukuna take. I’ve always noticed sukuna just wants to fight people who attack him first, people who insult him, or people who are strong. I find sukuna less and less evil and more like a yugiro hanma style character. Kenny is a VILLIAN, sukuna is simply living the roll of the strongest and doing what he feels like. What has she done to scale her higher than hakari? Neutralize a bunch of grade 3 and 1 grade 2s.. hakari is equal to yuta who is a special grade. And uraume is not close to kenjaku.. she has range attacks and can neutralize fodders but a strong dude like yuta who has the speed and the strength can take her.

I think kenjaku baited the USA and got soldiers into the CG bc he knew that the sorcerers would join. Yuji had no choice, and even though he didn’t know about the back of the prison realm he would have known abt Megumis sister and Angel. I think his first assumption was that the sorcerers would make these rules and find Angel, to then have them all attack him, and he could start the merger regardless bc he hadn’t made the rule that the CG would only end when Megumi and Geto were the last ones left. He wanted Yuji as a vessel for Sukuna and didn’t expect Sukuna to body hop and snatch Fushiguro, or at least he thought it was possible but didn’t think he’d do it so early or that Yuji would come out of that swap alive. He was talking about the barriers CE levels around each colony at one point so we know he split them up to the point he could potentially exclude one from the merger since CE doesn’t flow all around Japan through then, and from how he referred to it, it seems like Reggie was kinda right, and the CG is a cover for something else. He said it sounded like it was a coverup plan and kenjaku said that what we currently know about his plan is only around 60% of it before Uraume cut him off. I think the soldiers were there just to ensure there was enough CE for that colony accounting for various back up plans in case any part of his plan gets foiled. We saw that from him transferring authority to start the merger to someone else and how he was able to force a rule into the CG despite not being the game master by threatening to break the barriers around Japan.
