I find the song spellbinding, hypnotic, dreamy and slightly dark. If Tanita had jumped around in her range (eg sung high in the chorus) that would have totally broken the hypnotic spell and would not have suited the song. Her deep voice is gorgeous, sexy and enchanting.

What I find most remarkable is that she was only nineteen years old when she wrote and published this song. Just hearing voice and song you would rather expect someone well over thirty. One suggestion for a reaction would be Feuerschwanz' Manowar cover "Warriors of the World United". Having themselves two singers, they invited three more guests which converts the song, apart from being very catchy, in some sort of singing contest, I think you would enjoy this.

Fun fact, the oboe solo almost killed the oboe player. It was written on a synth, so they forgot to put in some breathing pauses. he made it, but just.. 😁

It's a melancholic song, was big in the 80's - great song and i've always loved her voice. I remember her well in the 80's.

Diana Ankudinova had to perform a version of this last year in her competition series the The Show mask go on.. Miss T had a number hits and is still very active as a singer songwriter.. She lives in England.. the other big hit was the one that bought her to everyone's attention ..A good tradition of love and hate ..a more up tempo number. This was around in some pretty dark times.. Check out her history on Wiki or her own media. .. shes a bit like Kate Bush in that shes been busy but Quiet with a core of dedicated fans world wide. Shes very much a writer composer musician..performer.

Wow, this song was a blast from the past, I think I had it on a top hits compliation album or something, I remember listening to it extensively. A suggestion for something different would be The Jezabels - Come Alive, I'd also recommend you revisit Halocene at some point, they have released some amazing originals since you last touched base, and have a very impactful one coming out next week.

Good Tradition is much more upbeat. More violins too. Fun factlet. Her brother is the actor Ramon who was in This Life and, very briefly, Game of Thrones. Also played The King of Siam in musical theatre.
