Our parents worked for Worldbook Encyclopedia.. In 1969, we were privy to an exclusive trip thru their jobs.. it was one week before the Apollo launch to the moon.. it had been rolled out to the launchpad.. it was so huge.. although from bus, it still was so awesome! it was an amazing trip for 2 little girls under 13! I'll never forget it! Since my husband has never been, I'm going to take him.. just the size of the Assembly bldg is so awesome.. I'm sure by now you've gone already.. I was 11 at the time and just thought it was so cool to see the size of the rockets and have always loved the idea of space travel. Loved this review! I should point out for those with younger families that the Shuttle Launch Experience may startle some young children as it can get quite loud. Also I would not recommend taking any valuables on the ride and making use of the locker facilities at the attraction. The simulator does include moments of sudden shaking and around 3 minutes at a 90 degree position so any phones or cash may slip out of pockets.

Great review and as usual very on point and covered everything you would need to know for a visit to Space Kennedy . Agree that if you are only here for a week then wouldn’t be on my list of things to do . However if your returning to Florida and you have already experienced the Disney / Universal Thrill then well worth a visit . I took my family there in April 2015 and had a fantastic day out . Just remember it’s not for everyone and it’s not Disney !! . I am glad we have experienced this attraction , you should do it at least once . Once again top notch review 👍.

If you have seven days in Florida, The Kennedy Space Center is a must see. I am surprised that people who thought they would not enjoy it actually did. They are amazed that you cannot finish everything in one day. After a visit, there is near by Port Canaveral with excellent restaurants, Jetty Park where you may catch a cruise ship going out and a nice beach and of course Cocoa Beach. If you plan it right, it gives you something great to do in the middle of your trip and recharges you to go back to the theme parks afterwards.

Very nice tourist destination. You will see some interesting rockets like Saturn V and Atlantis shuttle. However, it is way too expensive to visit. $80 for each person and $10 parking (plus more than 2 hours trips from Orlando). Most of the videos shown there are not so good including the IMAX. Visit the Houston Space center if you have a chance. Much better price with almost seeing the same exhibition.

Living in Cocoa Beach since 1967, I can tell you that for YEARS the KSC Visitors Center was free. You only had to pay a fee if you were taking one of the bus tours. But if you were just going to the visitors center museum and rocket garden, there was no charge at all including no parking charge. That's how it should be now. Every single NASA artifact they have on display was paid for by tax dollars just like the space center itself. There's no admission fee to get into the White House. There's no admission fee to get into any of the Smithsonian museums, or the National Archives, etc. And although Johnson Space Center in Houston charges a fee, it's half of what KSC charges,. Most of all other NASA centers are free or charge very nominal fees. So I don't know how much Delaware North paid to which corrupt politician along the way, but someone surely got their pocket lined.

That’s a really interesting perspective thank you. I always found it crazy how the British museum in the UK has always remained free.

@@TheFrugalBrit Many people in the local area who remember the days when it was free also feel the same as me. My father was a NASA engineer from the Apollo program all the way through the shuttle program before he retired after like 40 years with NASA. Yeah. I just went there today and they wanted me to pay $124 for two people to see the static displays. $10 for parking, $57 per person, and even more if you wanted any of their upsells. I had to apologize to my traveling buddy for my lack of funds and we left.
