can't stop crying watching them right now. used to see them all the time back east and even in CA and hire the ones in training to help me with my hospital consulting firm community phone calls. in undergrad took lessons with one of the leaders. so long ago, cannot remember names. but they are in my heart.

Just was in attendance tonight in NY at the City Center. It was absolutely beautiful!!! I enjoyed it thoroughly. I love how the dances represented us; our voice, our culture!!! Simply excellent! 🤎🖤

I really love Alvin Ailey. They are an excellent dance performance group. I had the pleasure of working with one of their premiere dancers in Toronto. If you haven't treated yourself to one of their performances, then it's a must do 2019!

He was AA who sought to perserve the uniqueness of his own culture and simultaneously enrich the American dance heritage (Alvin Alley). The underline word is heritage. I took my family and friends Feb 2019. I was appalled to see caucasian persons who ancestors would not allow Mr. Alley access plus, an asian person who under no circumstances would allow others in. The Asians keep their culture their culture see (Shen Yun Performing Arts). We were there to see us and us only (smooth chocolate skin). Remember, we are not here to please others by diversifying in order for them to come to the show, we are here to keep our culture our culture. I do believe that Mr. Ally is shaking his head and rightfully so (whites want the pleasure but not the struggle). We will inform others and want attend until we see Mr. Ally's culture. PEACE

Hello, while I respect this I just want to give you some more info it seems you do not have yet. I am a huge Alvin Ailey fan and am a dance major. Alvin Ailey studied with Horton. Hortons huge thing was that his company was colorblind and Alvin loved that. He talks about it in his autobiography how that's something he made a priority in his company. While he was alive he made sure anyone could join on his company and he most defiantly had diversity. He's not shaking his head and I'm sure he's honored that his company has surpassed his life, the way he wanted. His book is a beautiful read and I highly recommend it !
