I know I'm coming to this video late but this guy is a true pro. He can barely hear himself in the mix *at all* and he's still singing through, running his band and being super upbeat and acting/being happy for the crowd. That is super hard to do when you can't hear anything, especially if you're used to totally pro setups. Notice he pulls out one of his in-ear monitors almost immedately after he starts singing--he's checking to see if he can hear more of his vocal through the PA (nope!). Then around 1:42 he very quickly does that hand gesture. He's trying to tell the soundman to get more vocal into his in-ears. Don't know if that worked either! What a solid live artist.
