This may just be the greatest piano solo of all time. It might take a few more decades for people to really understand the depths of what’s really happening here. Kenny is going nuts for 3 whole minutes and he would’ve went another 3 if he didn’t get cut off.

Yes, there are other version of this song on KZbin where he just goes on and on, including parts of "Flight of the bumble bee" etc. Totally amazing, I never get bored of this song, the finest piece of music ever recorded IMHO.

One of my absolute favorite piano solos ever. I wrote a paper about it when I returned to college in my fifties.

thanx @Juan Ortiz for the advice of the PDF, but I was thinking of this "paper" written by @Vince Norman. I guess Mr. Norman, you wrote a transcription inclusive a complete analysis, didn't you? This was my question. :)

Man, the way he keeps it in key, almost just straight blues / boogie style - then just when you've settled in, he goes off on some crazy out of key run - I literally get a physical spasm when I hear it. Just god-like. Dammit.

1- wonderful transcription, congratulations!! 2- a legendary solo, remarkable, timeless, genius. I bought the album back in the late 80's and 30+ years later I still listen to Kenny Kirkland's solo with a sense of wonder, amazement and awe. It gets me emotional every single time. And it is because of the quality of the craft, the absolutely masterful control of rhythm, pitch, and energy.

One year on KZbin decides to show me something I really need to see. Thank you for this Juan, a surreal experience to see Kenny Kirkland's brilliant work written down.

every couple of years I decide to try and tack this solo. Today is that day again! :) great transcription. Theres an awesome live version (not the same night) but instead of focusing on Kennys playing they decide to focus on Sting dancing up and down the stage!!!

That one is Tokyo, but this Bring On The Night was Paris, no? Also my favorite solo; I always get so pumped up and grin at the key change runs.

Uno degli assoli più belli mai suonati (live!) e nel film che parla di quel tour non c'è la ripresa completa di questi formidabili minuti che hanno fatto storia! Sono rimasta scioccata e delusa.

Kenny was so brilliant. Sting can pick ‘em. The amazing thing was that he picked out the emergent jazz musicians at the time he did: Branford, Kenny, Omar, Darryl
