One of my favorite duets - Kenny Loggins (Loggins and Messina) and Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) - both had MASSIVE solo careers, but this duet just shines so bright and brings me memories of my youth... I am sure that my Mom must have played this song a million times as I was growing up - I was 10 when this was released - great memories, thank you.

this was stevie at the height of the CLARITY, sound, control, and freedom of her voice. within 2-3 years she would have to change how she sang due to the damage of endless touring, recording, and horrible cocaine habit. listen to how different her vocals are on her 1st solo album BELLA DONNA (which i absolutely adore). this duet with kenny is my most favourite of all her collaborations over her career. it is a classic, filled with strength, hope, and optimism of true friendship and love. thank you for choosing this wonderful song! ❤

This song reminds me of my first car. I use to hear this song on the car radio. I worked and saved all my money through the summer of 1978. Then I bought a 1970 Chevy Caprice. It was a white 4 door, black vinyl top, black interior with 56,000 miles on it and ran like new. I paid $700

This song peaked at #5 on the Billboard charts in late 1978. I was in 2nd grade and it became my favorite song at the time. 45 years later its still my favorite all time song.

"Whenever I call you friend" has a very deep meaning for me. One girl two guys. One my very best true friend. The other my first young love. I lost them both. Long tragic story. But I love this song. It will always always remind me of how fragile our hearts are and how strong they can be. Beautiful song! It is possible to love two people deeply and differently. Difficult choice for someone to make being so young. My neice always told me I reminded her of Stevie Nicks which I was extremely flattered and I carry that compliment with grace and humility. 😊Ms. Nicks has a heavenly voice! 🪽🙏Mr. Loggins is very talented and a handsome man. He has a couple of songs that I really like! 💖"Easy driver and"Don't fight it"

Asia… Thank god you found the volume switch at the start as I thought there may have been an audio issue. I hadn’t heard this in such a long time & it brought back many fond memories of times with “that special someone” I was dating back in my early 20’s. Much love fam… I hope & pray that your whole family are well. Much love & best wishes always… From Australia 🇦🇺✌️😎🇦🇺

Back then, Stevie Nicks was about the best Duet partner you could ask for. This song was a big hit, John Stewart had a big hit with her as a duet partner with the song "Gold", and a couple of years later she had hits dueting with Tom Petty(Stop Dragging My Heart around) and Don Henley(Leather and Lace)

❤❤❤ this duet… Loggins was opening for Fleetwood Mac, and asked Stevie to lend her vocals and he pushed her to the limit…. Originally to be with Melissa Manchester, there schedules conflicted…. We got Magic with Loggins and Nicks😊…. You’re the glowing light in my life…..ohhh everything takes me back to you…..🎉

Stevie said that Kenny cracked the whip to get the best vocals possible out of her. And it worked. She was exhausted but his perfectionism in both singing and producing this song paid off with one great duet.
