Darryl Preston+My records shows Hank recorded this Mar 20, '49, along with I just told mama goodbye. He sung it on the Health and Happiness show Oct '49. Song written by Claude Boone. It appears Hank sung this first, however, different records may show different dates.

Hank Williams recorded this song first. It made the charts in may. It was the followup to Lovesick Blues. Jimmy Wakely & Margaret Whiting covered it in september.

No. Bill Carlisle recorded it first, on King Records in 1947, two years before Hank. However, Hank had the most success with the song, peaking at #2 on the Best Selling Retail Folk chart in 1949.
