When the bartender tells the narrator of the song "You can't find that here," I tear up every time. Such a simple lyric but it says so much. True love can't be expressed in words or replaced by ephemeral things... tells such an effective story in a deceptively simple, genuine style.

I cry every single time I hear this when it gets to the line "Being right there as our time got small and holding her hand when the good Lord called her up". I just picture an old married couple that stuck together for 60 years through thick and thin lying in a bed together, and the man thanking the Lord for bringing his wife into his life and all the happy moments they had.

“SPENT FIVE YEARS IN THE BAR. WHEN THE CANCER TOOK HER FROM ME. NOW IVE BEEN SOBER FOR 3 YEARS NOW BECAUSE THE ONE THING STRONGER THAN THE WHISKEY” is what I’ve been shouting the past couple of days since my daughter was born this past Saturday. I’m only 21 and I go back and forth from this song to “there goes my life” by Kenny. but this one stands out to me because ever since my ex and I broke up I’ve been drinking everyday for over 8 months. going to sober up for my daughter. thanks Kenny for this song and the inspiration to do better and be a better person. My grandmother just adored Kenny Chesney.. she taught me so much about life and love and friendship.. she has been gone 18 years. But every year around her birthday come back here to listen.. her birthday is May 28th.. this year this song hit me different, my grandmother used to say " your blessings come from the people who love you" this year I'm suffering severe lymphedema I can't even make it out of bed.. but thankfully I'm blessed with a family I got a 12 year old boy that loves cooking as much as I do and took over all the meals.. I got a 10 year old that won't leave my side just in case I need something. And I got a woman that cares and takes time from her day to make sure I have all I need.. it really is the good stuff.. im so thankful

Everyone has their own grieving period, and there is no time tables. Believe it or not, she had bouffant hair. He then showed me a pic of her at 72, one of the last pics before she died of ALS. This song was playing in my head the whole time he told me about his love for her. I won't be able to ever hear it again without tearing up.

Back when Kenny still Made Country. He used to be one of my favorites before he turned into a hippy pirate pop singer

Ive been listening to this song since it came out. Reminds my wife and I of her mom since she died, my son was 1 years old, he is now 18. My mother in law had a brain tumor and lost the battle, after a year and a half in a comma. Reminds us of the happy memories we had with her. She will forever be in our hearts.

So crazy used to listen to this when my wife drove me nuts. Today I sent it to my son who was struggling getting along with his young wife.

I think Kenny Chesney is one of the best singers now days. He is actually keeping it country unlike Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, and especially Dan and Shay... Keep Up the good work Kenny this is my favorite song by you.....

Spent five years in the bar, when the cancer took her from me. But I’ve been sober three years now cuz the one thing stronger than the whiskey was the sight of her Holden our baby girl. Is by far the most hair chilling realistic amazing bar of country music. Because it hits home for so many an out human nature is to often take advantage of what was giving to us.
