Hey Kenny. I’m about to graduate with a bachelors and am studying for my CFP exam. I was thinking that selling insurance as a financial rep would be a good idea to meet the experience criteria and also build my book of business before I’m a financial advisor. I was even thinking I could tie that into my pitch..like offering these prospects tax mitigation strategies and investment consultation once I get all my certs later on. That way they’re getting more value out of me than a typical insurance agent. Any thoughts on that?

Hi Ebony! She bought insurance for her business (general liability policy with property coverage). I sell every line of insurance. For Workers Comp. You would need your property & casualty license. Hope this helped.

Process binding the policy, taking payments etc. With some carriers, I act as the insurance consultant.

To a certain degree, yes.
