I remember when NASCAR changed over to ethanol fuel and after the first race Larry Mac was trying to explain what was going on about the fuel mileage. He got shut dowh real quick and there was never a mention even in the, what was it at the time? Was it the Winston Scene mag/paper. What it was, it us to be tires and then fuel stops, with the ethanol it was fuel and then tire stops. They forgot to change the fuel tank size and the were running out of fuel way before they needed tires. Kenny, tell us what you know about that change over. There should be a real good story in there somewhere.

Speedvision/Speed was my religion of motorsports including Nascar, ARCA and Hooter's Pro Cup(CARS Tour). I really hate to see parents pressuring their kids to be superstars no matter what sport they are in. And kids quit what they love because of parents being overbearing towards them. Kenny is right, competition kills.

I helped build the Speed studios and broadcast facilities in Charlotte. They were the best money could buy. Then as said at about 3:00 , Fox started FS1 and we built that on the Fox lot in LA. It was going to be greatest thing ever and it was again built with the best. This sucked up all the money for sports. Then the old facility in Charlotte was used for cheap production and such. Labor is a lot cheaper in Charlotte than in LA. Worked with a lot of great folks at Fox Sports over the years. Some of the best in the industry.

I enjoyed NASCAR Raceday. I also enjoyed Inside Winston Cup. I enjoyed Speedvision, Speed Channel, then Speed, then FS1, then the NBC Sports Network. The problem is, NASCAR doesn’t have a Charter for TV networks, NASCAR no longer believes in loyalty to tradition. NASCAR sells itself to the highest bidder. Gee, I wonder why loyal, hard working race fans have a hard time relating to NASCAR nowadays - well it’s because the management went corporate, and not middle-sized like it was in the 1980’s. As soon as NASCAR filled the grandstands in the late 1990’s, they had visions of dollar signs dancing off into the sunset. Sad. I remember when NASCAR valued a quality relationship with the happiness of the fans over the dollars in the contracts, and the flexing of power, just because you own the series (I watch all 3 NASCAR touring series each and every weekend, and have for over 26 years now).
