Kenpachi is INSANE! - Bleach Arc 2 - Soul Society: The Sneak Entry (Episode 21 - 41)

A series where I go through Bleach arc by arc and give my thoughts on the show as a first time watcher in 2023. In this episode we're looking at the 2nd arc of Bleach. Namely the Soul Society: Sneak Entry arc. This arc comprises episodes 21 - 41 and chronicles Ichigo and the gangs entry into the Soul Society in an attempt to locate and rescue Rukia. Along the way we're introduced to multiple important characters such as Kenpachi Zaraki and Sousuke Aizen. So strap yourself in and enjoy this look back at the Bleach anime that ran from October 5th 2004 to March 27th 2012.

I'm finally unemployed! And I could finally upload a video as well! So yeah I guess it's time for part 2 of the Bleach retrospective. I know I said it was gonna be irregular uploads, but I didn't think it would take this long. Oh well, part 3 should be out a lot faster. So yeah, I hope you enjoy this video. Was getting back into Bleach, so this was a really good recap/ review for me

Ganju had some unique sand powers, I always remember that from this arc. Basically all the other characters have so much happen to them later that this early in the story we are just starting to get to know them. Too bad Tite Kubo had to rush the ending of the manga, but we will see if the anime does things differently. And that is an actual historic Mexican coin, took me ages to figure that out, how it says Republica Mexicana what they used in the 1880s and not Estados Unidos Mexicanos they use today.

Soul Society is one arc. They only awkwardly cut it up in parts for the DVD releases.

Sure, but breaking it up into chunks like this works better for what I'm doing.

You basically start having biases towards these "chunks" because they are presented as having individual narratives like an arc should, which they are not, but you judge them as such. For instance, you thought this "arc" was boring because they just arbitrary cut off a portion of the beginning of the Soul Society arc and presented it as more or less a standalone section, when it all should be taken as one whole. Now your opinion of this part of the story is lessened.
