As a student of Ed Parker I don’t usually comment much on other Kenpo styles, but I want to compliment you on your speed and relaxed power. Your strike to his chest is not unusual at all to us who closely follow Mr. Parker's teachings. It's actually how the palm strike in Clutching Feathers is executed (except it would be to his face, as our striking hand was pinning his hand to our head just prior) And the reason is Point of Origin. One of the talents I see in your basics is the relaxed power that takes advantage of your hand speed. Keep up the good work.

I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to comment. The compliment means a lot coming from you. (I've followed your channel for a while and consider you one of the gold standards in Kenpo instruction.) I had not made the connection between this chest strike and Clutching Feathers--thanks so much for that and for your explanation.

I actually find myself doing that diaphragm shot a lot in other techniques as an insert. For example, in Shielding Hammer during the first block, I do that strike to the diaphragm with my left hand. Depending on range, it could also work in Sword of Destruction. In Heavenly Ascent, instead of a downward heel palm claw, I like to sink my momentum into a diaphragm strike. Once you learn something so unique and powerful it's had to resist 😂

@@EmptyHands154 Glad I could provide a suggestion! I actually learned that modification for Shielding Hammer 5 years ago and have been doing it ever since!
