My heart is torn from my chest for Kendall and for all the students, parents, teachers, and all the family and friends of Rob Elementary, I heard "Lexi's" mother speak this morning and cried my eyes out I hurt so badly for her and Lexi's father grief has overcome me I'm a mother of 5,2 are grown but I still have a 13,10,&9 year old which all attend school and because of all the school shootings I live in fear of sending my 3 and to school everyday, so each morning I say a prayer with and over my daughters that the Lord please protect them and keep them safe and get them back home to me safe, and each day that they return I thank the Lord for getting them back to me safely.I know it shouldn't be this way we should not have to live in fear of our children dying when they go to school the laws have to change

Yeah in 10 days.. seems to soon to be out . My 8 month old when she was a month old had stomach surgery and was in recovery for 10 days..but she also stayed in hospital for 143 for other reasons before coming home..10 days and 5 surgeries seems so much for a body to handle going home so soon

If people are stable, they like to get them out as quickly as possible. She's far from home, there's a greater infection risk in the hospital, and it was probably more traumatizing for her mentally to be in an unfamiliar city away from her family. She'll likely be followed up at the local hospital.

That child will be haunted for a long time regardless but being in that town may be extremely difficult for her healing. I cannot begin to imagine that kind of violence and trauma. And now, as in other shootings, the aftermath is the time for the media and the government in charge of disarming the citizenry SO THE POLICE STATE CAN BE ENACTED, to tug at our heart strings. These stories, these children need to be heard. It's hard but everyone needs to delve into this tragedy. Learn from it and work in changing how people can purchase guns. Also, if you want these styles of weapons banned you need to be aware that the new rifle the military will be using has a civilian version out now. Educate yourself on this debate. My heart aches for these families and survivors. I can’t imagine the loss they are feeling. Nothing will change unless this same loss is felt by those in power to make changes to laws. When they feel and experience what it’s like for someone they love be taken away by gun violence nothing will change. Nothing has thus far changed and every human life lost to cowardly acts of gun violence should be an exception and not the norm in our lives. Change the laws, change the narrative, stop the violence.
