My outlet box has red, black, white and ground wires. What do I connect the red/black wires to? (I also have a slide switch at the wall for both light and fan)

What if you have a red wire

Red goes to black

I had the same issue with another fan amd learned the hard way... black can go to black or black can go to red, if you go black to black, then just cap the red wire from the ceiling as you will not need it. I hope this helps.

@@ArtOfTheWeld when it had red and black it is because there is two switches, one for the fan and the other for the light.
