Hey Ken, do you give one on one lessons? I also live Montreal. I think I saw you on the metro once lol

Ha! That's cool! I actually live in Nova Scotia but I have family in Montreal. I'm focusing on creating online courses these days, rather than doing one on one lessons, but if you contact me through my website ( kenshorley.com ) I can add you to my mailing list for workshops and other learning opportunities. Thanks for reaching out!

Just a question: is there a difference between the 3 stroke and Pah stroke? I tried using four fingers for Pah to make it sound different because it’s how I learned it, but the muted 1 on the previous pulse makes my hand’s movement a bit off beat. It seems that you are using three fingers for both 3 stroke and the Pah stroke. Is that usual among players or it’s only for this specific pattern only? Would love to hear your thoughts and thank you for making these great lessons online!

Hi! It's a subtle difference but I agree that, in this instance, it flows better to use the 3 stroke in place of a standard Pa. (Although I still use the tips of all 4 fingers to play a single Pa stroke.)
