First off, you don't have to read this long comment lol. But, I did want to say thank you for the videos. I'm fairly new to your channel and I've been bouncing all over the place watching your different videos. I'm really enjoying them a lot. I just bought some Captain's Choice Venture soap and aftershave. I couldn't help myself. I bought a Fat Boy and a Slim off ebay--both from 1961. I bought a 1969 black beauty a couple weeks ago off ebay as well. I'm looking at a 1969 short handled black beauty soon. So far, I've only been buying the razor no original packaging. I'll go out and get some Flitz and microfiber cleaning cloths soon to bring these beauties back to some of their former glory. I bought a few other items that you use in your den and another soap from one of your recent videos. I've been wet shaving for a little over a year now and I suppose it was time I tried some new things and finally spring for those vintage razors I've been wanting.

Great shave. My uncle was stricken with COVID-19, but he survived and recovered miraculously. I recently got the money I needed to finally start wet shaving. Since I tend to be a cheap bastard, I’m only buying whatever is available in stores. Hope I find some good products along the way

I was sadden when they ceased making the "North" scented variety, one of my favorites, so I stocked up on plenty😉 My son loves menthol so he'd probably go for this one. Nice video Ken…….if you haven’t see it, Stirling make an unbreakable shaving bowel that can collapse. Comes in about 5 colors & only costs $6.00. I just got it on a whim with my recent order. If you dont have a lot of space on your sink counter, dont have to worry if you drop it. I usually face lather but this bowel whips up an incredible amount.

Great shave. The funny thing about Creed is the fact that all of their fragrances were around £100 15 years ago in London shops. Then they've launched Aventus that was hyped like hell by fragrance reviewers. The rest is history: they've bumped up the prices.

I'm VERY new to wet shaving. Would love to see a video dedicated to very specific details about razor blades. Feather, Lords, Shark, Wilkinson etc. Stainless, chrome, titanium, aggressive, less aggressive. Same with soaps. Tallow, non tallow. Williams, Van Der Hagen etc.

Totally agree with the terminology you have to use when searching for vintage gillette stuff on Ebay. The more general your search the higher your chances of finding a deal from someone who doesnt know what they have If you want a *1927 Gillette gold Bostonian* Then you pretty much gotta search: *Gillette open comb w/ box*

Sellers Burgener I’ve been using oil based pomade for the past 60 years I use to do a pompadour like Elvis but now I do a slick back. Pomade is good because it never hardens its always playable and it leaves a nice shine and you don’t have to apply it Everyday. Only problem is it’s a little messy but I love it it’s great

You can always pick up a "super adjustable" for dirt cheap to see if you would even like the fat boy style head. I never really cared for mine so it lives in its case on display.

The death rate is going down daily and the talk of is of reducing the lockdown we've been under for several weeks. Great shave. We had some (to put it politely) idiots proposing a mass get-together in a nearby park. Luckily the Police got wind of it and were patrolling and the get-together didn't happen. But the things I have seen since this whole Covid 19 came about are, I have seen a lot of good in some people. But in the same breath I have also seen a lot of selfishness and greed in some other people. The proposed get-together that I mentioned been one of the most selfish acts. What makes it all the more annoying for me, is the Park has a Hospital in it's boundaries and there are a lot of elderly people in a section of the Hospital. Utter stupidity and selfishness beyond words. Rant over. Stay safe Ken.

It all depends on where you live. Covid isn't going away. You can't hide in your homes from it forever. We know that most of us will get it and most of us will be asymptomatic. Of those who get sick 12-14% will require hospitalization (CNN). Most will recover on their own. Again, it all depends on where you live, but in most places it's time to go back to work and quit using covid as an excuse to stay at home and suckle from the governments teet like a bunch of freeloaders.

Ok, I have the same bowl, and to correct my previous comment. This bowl has a thin protective coating, not sure what it is. Catchup will not remove that hint of green. I'm not sure what the coating is but it shouldn't turn green. Yet it is! :-《

Great video ken ... I'm going to try those products soon 😊 recently I've learned a good trick that gives a constant preshave between passes ... Apply preshave and lathered shave creamsoap/soap for the first pass ... When your done the first pass any remaining bits of soap that the razor didn't take off your face during the pass, wet your hands and rub it into your face, it creates a very thin layer of lather on your face, same thing and as good as a preshave specifically, it's especially effective if you have facial hair, when your lathering lather up the area of facial hair eg. Goatee area but don't shave it off obviously, and you'll be able to see where to stop shaving as to not ruin or take off any facial hair by accident as the hair will show through the soap ... And then repeat same step with wet hands 👌 works great, I've been getting a smoother shave, especially when I do only 2 passes in a hurry and less irritation also 👌👌 give it a try and see how it works for you👌👌 stay safe 😊

ad 8:56 - It would be interesting to me to know why in all western english speaking countries people bought so much of toilet paper. I've never seen any answer for it. In eastern Europe countries toilet paper was not on short, people bought mostly food. BTW. i have my new favorite aftershave - Couto aftershave water, its from Portugal, beautiful scent, little less alcohol, nice cooling and unbelievable soothing effect on the skin.
