I don't know....I really think scheduling mismatches like this doesn't do anything great for your team. Why not schedule someone who is the same D1 level as you, but you feel pretty good about dominating them but not blowing them out.........I don;t see how either team benefits from games like this...........????

PSU fan here. When will PSU fans realize that no games matter other than the big ones they always seem to lose. 10 - 2 is fine, but they haven't been able to win the big games yet. And they aren't going to face any more Kent States and a third string QB. We'll see when the Big Ten schedule starts.

They don't even play Michigan this year, and I wouldn't worry much about their 1950s offense this year even if they did...I don't get why fans like you can't appreciate it for what it is, see growth,see change and allow optimism to creep in. This offense is FUN. This QB is the most naturally talented ever at Penn State and he's starting to realize the potential. Just have fun man, this is way better than 90% of Paterno's tenure.

Agreed Scott. You get it. Most other Penn State fans don't. Illinois is WAAAAAAAAAAY better than people think. Great QB, Great receivers, GREAT secondary...and they stuffed the run against Nebraska. Illini were MAJOR underdogs against Nebraska in a difficult environment. EXACTLY the same situation awaits them in Happy Valley...AND they have an extra day's rest.
