I went my whole life and never played well with others, and never ever harmonized with somebody. Started at 65 years ago on the piano, and I've learned about the circle of fifths. But they way you explained the tetrachords just blew my mind...in a good way. I paused the video and just visualized it, I can't wait to get to the piano to feel it in the bones. I realize my biggest handicap are my ears (damaged to begin with) and a lack of music in my head. So I take even basic exercises in the method books seriously to try to make up for lost years. Merci beaucoup, Kent.

Hey Kent! As Quincy Jones said once in a documentary..."It's the same 12 notes"...and this great tutorial starts to inform us that all great music is really hidden in plain sight! Merry Christmas!

Just watched this one last night. Great video. Was just telling my brother about the beauty of all this (both musicians, but he plays guitar so doesn’t *see* it, meaning keyboard, as fast) and how perfectly you lay it out. Can’t wait to teach this to my own students!

Terrific lesson, KH! I've always been grateful for the explanation Mrs. Bodine gave me in 7th grade of the Circle of 5ths - music makes SENSE, in addition to making the world JOYFUL! 💕🎹🎼🎵🎶❣

Season's Greetings, Kent. Great video, as always. Thank you. You are my go to for online jazz tutorials. Would you be willing to provide an example of an ascending circle of fifths sequence, with an application?

Kent my friend- this is William in California- hope you Are well! This dosen’t have to do with this video - but I just foundationen our buddy Mr. Oscar Petersen on You Tube doing: «Our Loveis here to Stray! What I like about it is it seems like he is maling it simple : you know tastey with little two note chords ect.! I thought I would bring it to your attention perhaps you could use it on your program! If you have time write back and tell me what you think of our Uncle Oscars versjon of it , thanks your friend: william Le Us in Cali!
