I learned of your channel by watching your buddy Simon, " A Bloke in the Woods" video's. You guy's make those of us watching feel like we're right there with you. I've never been to the UK, so this is the next best thing. Also, picked up a few tip's from you.👍 You mentioned whether or not we have suet. There may be some farms that make their own. But it's practically unheard of. I wish we could find it. As you and Simon demonstrate, it would be great for hunting camp and backpacking. Thanks for letting us go along with you. Be safe. With Christmas coming up, simons needs a trekology chair, in case you didn't notice him crouching while you sat in luxury. Fantastic bits of kit, i dont leave home without mine. Good job on the film. Love canoe camping, able to bring along heavier comforts, better food. You guys are such good buddies that you’re fun to watch. Thanks for the gear explanation. I do my canoe the same way, a little extra strength and stability to my tarp. Haven’t used a bivi yet. A big fire, good food, good company, on a fine adventure...well done fellas. I wonder if you would mind teaching us how to clean up the cook kit after all that great food? It’s asking a lot I know; but, some fellows think boiling water is all there is to cooking... Good suet is a challenging thing to find. I usually use solid coconut oil instead for dumplings, etc. That looked like a nice overnighter!

I have the same mora crooked/spoon knife, following a video from ben orford i chopped off the pointed bit (which had chipped anyway) about 5mm maybe a little more. Just used a dremel with a slitting disc and lots of quenching in water to prevent effecting the heat treatment. makes it a lot more useful.

I think what I like best about the videos is that you two are having a really awesome time on your adventure. Very entertaining to watch plus it makes you the viewer want to go out and do some bush-crafting or just plain camping. Great videos gentlemen, to both of you. Unrendered suet has become difficult to find in the USA in recent years. The best does come from the kidney area--it is clear and white and firm. I really miss it for my Christmas steamed pudding mould. Rendered suet just doesn't work the same way as it melts too quickly. It does work well for fried potatoes. A campfire stew is just the thing for colder weather dining! Your dumplings look fine, as well. Not always easy to get them to be 'light'. AND a proper breakfast! Just the thing for paddle driving energy.
