These are excellent tents, I went with a Winnerwell stove and had to remove the rings as the chimney is ever so slightly bigger. How did you like the stove? I thought having the flue coming out of the front would be in the way for cooking. That flue gets hot and is a potential to get yourself burned being right in front. It gets hotter than hell with my stove. I still need to do some more testing on my tent and stove set up. Those Russians sure can make a high quality tent. What did you think about the stove? I just thought having a hinged door with a wide square opening with a window was more practical with the adjustable combustion air door. You can't go wrong with these tents. Have a great day!

Bigos is an old traditional dish here in Poland. In theory it should be a vege dish since mainly served on Christmas Eve dinner. I prefer it done mostly from sour cabbage instead of fresh one. Good to make it on ribs, with a proper amount of kielbasa and forest mashrooms. By the way if you grind bigos it can be used as stuffing in pierogi (same - used during Christmas). Indeed winter food :) Thanks Andy for awesome content!

I've been asking but haven't had an answer-what has cooked that is complicated enough to need a recipe? Steak, fried potatoes and sauteed asparagus? Great meal, I love that he cooks from scratch but do you really need: Peel and cut up potatoes, put them in water and set to boil. Cook until mostly soft-add to preheated skillet with some oil, cook until brown. Etc...oil and season a steak. Add to skillet next to potatoes, cook as desired.

Your taste in tableware is profoundly nostalgic. I purchased a set of similar ware in Denver's biggest surplus store during 1975 when I was first setting out with permanent camping in the western US. I used a Cold Handle in those days. Swedewoods uses one here--- I saw another practitioner who does, too. They nested--- the blue-rimmed enamelware and the frying pan. I still have that stuff in my picnic hamper.

I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

My folks on my dads side was timber working people , dad broke out in the oilfield. But I was tought how to slit a stick of firewood, the method you use is very hard on yourself, our chopping axes , mostly are double but axes . They're very sharp, the way bushcraft shows to sharpen the single bits , are sharpened like a metal cutting chisel, our hunting and timber axes are sharpened like a straight rasor. Someplace ive a old axe sharpen your style , I used then for nothing but splitting sticks of stove wood . I've busted stove wood a meter across, with I check on the back side of the stick , and 1 on the side near me and never hit the ground or a chop block below . Its something my dad and grandpa tought me how to . I'm just 64 , but I watched and listened to my folks.

I love this stove . It is a bit big for this particular tent , BUT l think it would do quite nicely in your bell tent . I also think this is a tent that Simon would absolutely love, including the stove !
