Agreed. Would like to see the ability to add two together, so a couple could sleep in basically the same rent. Shouldn’t be too hard to do, for the tent company, just add a second door, or all the way across the top, maybe. Possibly a whole different design. Who knows? Maybe they already have that. 😂

A sturdy tent for £130 with a cot, rain awning, air mattress and sheet, pillow and pillow case? I like how it's up off the ground and you can sit comfortably at the entrance like you're in a chair. Nice. Looks great for solo car camping!

Bear with me here. Ground tent sleeping has the inherent problems of moisture, cold, bugs, and uncomfortable roots, rocks, and irregularities in the substrate. This means footprints, pads, netting, and/or heating source to ameliorate. This means lots of weight and bulk. I recently jumped on the hammock bandwagon. In a relatively compact and lightweight package, one can sleep entirely off the ground (no ground cold, dampness, objects poking), entirely enclosed from bugs, and covered from rain and wind. But the big downside is severe lack of back support, and the challenge of getting in and out of the sleep system, plus, it relies on biomes with nicely spaced trees. So I really like the idea of a cot to get off of the cold, damp, buggy, rocky ground, plus a tent. The downside being the bulk and weight. There are those hanging shelters that mountaineers use, essentially a hanging cot tent which combine the advantages of a cot and hammock tent plus being lightweight and compact. But they are fabulously expensive, being such specialized pro gear for serious climbers. I am experimenting now with a similar concept on the cheap. It is a robusy military aluminum folding stretcher, which can be four-point secured with ratcheting cargo tie-down straps (6000 lbs each) and a hammock style tent/rainfly. It is easier to get in and out of, has good back support, and is a fairly good shelter.

I love that cot/tent/awning set up. What a fantastic design. This would be great for an outdoor festival event. It also gives you a nice place to sit. The awning being open invites socializing and the cot gets you off the ground for sleeping. All the windows are great for cross ventilation. The fact that it comes with an air mattress and all the bedding is the icing on the cake.

It was heartwarming to see you eat a Spam and egg sandwich for breakfast. I'm an American and many people I've encountered immediately say "YUCK! I hate that stuff" when I've mentioned Spam. I've always thought that reaction came from people who have never tasted it. When I was growing up, every now and then my family had Spam and eggs for Sunday breakfast after church. My father liked it cut in 10mm thin pieces and fried crispy on the outside. Before anyone comments, it's processed food so we didn't eat much of it. Anyway, that's enough Spam talk. I appreciate your videos and look forward to more.

@@thecatatemyhomeworkthat is very fair, I don't think anyone thinks it look appetizing in or just out of a can. Once you fry it spam actually looks much better and smells like any other breakfast meat. Whenever people are apprehensive I try to explain it like really tightly packed and salty pork sausage which helps some. It is worth a try just cut some slices and put them in a pan without any fat until they are crispy, then throw it on a bagel with a slice of American cheese and a egg.

The last time I went camping was with the girl guides was nearly 55 years ago there were 6 of us to a tent which were made out of canvass. We always camped near a small river. The laser time was for a week it rained solidly for 3 days the river burst it's banks and we had to move the tents twice. Everything was damp and I couldn't take anymore and phoned my dad to come and take me home. If it had been in one of those tents you show I'm sure I wouldn't have minded the rain and wet. I was only about 13/14. I've never camped since preferring a proper bed that wasn't just a sleeping bag on the floor and a proper roof over my head. But the tents you show are really quite lovely and comfortable.

I have two of these! Firstly, terrible for bad weather. BUT!!! They have three or four great utilities. 1. With two you can make a nice naturally closed off camp, get a windbreaker and it's a nice set up around a fire. 2. It's nice to sit on them. 3 (and this is big) I mostly use this inside other tents when you want an extra cubicle. I have a square tent and a couple of times with one other person I've used these so that we each have a private sleeping space. So pretty good.

for that price, including an air mat, cover, inflatable pillow, AND sleeping bag, that's a proper china bargain, for a "one order" solo camping cot setup. i'm thoroughly impressed! (even if the air mat leaked) also: permanganate and glycerine are definitely a stylish way to start a fire. but i'm willing to bet, that glycerine contained too much water, that's why it took so long, and crackled so much. (it's VERY hydrophilic) if you get the good anhydrous stuff, and finer PPM, it get's going in

Andy, I doubt very if anything could make you look bad my friend. Your videos are so uncomplicated they are very entertaining. When you say you love breaking down the whole duck, that is a way of paying homage to the duck, or so ancient hunters looked at it that way or getting back to nature. Yes, I do love camping and all things natural. Keep them coming mate.

I'm from small town in Ontario Canada and love camping. This comment is for all videos, I've watched many and I would really love to see more of inside tents, before and after setting up. Around site and him inside tent but at a distance. You have a great face, would just like to see more.😂 Said with respect, kindness and please.🙏😇👍

I bought my first one of these campers from Cabelas when I was living in the US. You can buy "waterproof" makes and they are fabulas. I usest to use mine in the back of my pickup and I have even been out in the real cold and snow in it. To be fair I did drape a tarp over it when I knew I was going to get a hammering in the rain, but then you would expect to do that with a regular tent. Bye the way ours was a double sleeper

The duck and waffles seems to be a riff on the fried chicken and waffles we have here in the States. Try sprinkling a little brown sugar on your Spam before you fry it, it's a whole different experience. Thanks for another great video!

What a great idea...really like the idea of combining the tent with the sleeping system. Looks like it has some limitations - not least the lack of waterproofness/fly sheet - but perhaps as a proof of concept it's cool. I did wonder how it would bear up to a sudden gust of wind on the back of the of the tent...you might end up trapped if it blew over! 😁

My first time seeing this channel. Well, that was relaxing and entertaining to watch. Quite interesting camera angles, content and sights/sounds captured… I admire this gentleman having fun and being positive along with the work he needed to make this happen. Also, his testing of various gear is likely helpful to those individuals new and experienced at camping to see what may or may not make sense to purchase. Well done.

I'm looking at this tent and thinking it might well suit me. Looks like an easy set up but more importantly gets me off the floor with minimal fuss. I have mobility issues but don't see why this should stop me camping. Looking at this I think it could work well with a tarp

Sooo peaceful! Unlike the yearly camping trips we went on with our church. We had a huge clearing surrounded by huge oak trees... a five minute walk to an enormous lake. I'm a wimp (and with five kids, seemed to always have a baby or toddler) so I rented one of the tiny cabin rooms to sleep in! That way at least I slept in with my baby's schedule. At the campsite the teens stayed up late and the babies woke early! 😂 I would walk back in the morning and make everyone else in the family their breakfast and spend the day "camping" with the less wimpy people! Great memories, though. Your version of camping actually gives you time to think and enjoy the peace, doesn't it? The food you make out in the woods is better than what I've been eating this week! 😂 I've just found your videos and I'm a new subscriber! 🎉

Why stop there? Why not have a backpack that is the tent. Like in backpack mode, the backpack frame turns into a cot with a tent already attached. And then the tent unfold and unfurls. It means you have two less things to carry/pack.

👍I can't help but like your videos, given your positive demeanor and nice presentation style. That cot tent was also something interesting I hadn't seen before. I wonder if you could find a way to heat it from below, for cold weather camping? (not from directly below, but perhaps have the fire in a pit next to it, and somehow route the hot gas underneath a skirt around tent bottom, then out a chimney on the other side)
