Subscribed. I just saw a homeless man under a sheet of plastic while it was basically freezing rain outside, and I could tell he was on the bare ground. He’s probably either mentally ill, an addict, or whatever but I don’t even keep my backyard chickens in conditions like that-let alone leave an old man like that. I’m here to learn how to best help him but I don’t have a lot of extra money. I’m going to look for similar gear to yours on Temu or Wish and hopefully I can find some affordable items to give to him. I’m going to start with a double person tent, blanket, and a fire starter.

Thank you for being willing to help. No way to know his situation; but, not all people who are on the street are alcoholics or druggies; sometimes things out of your control just happens & that's where you end up. Some are able to get off the street and unfortunately some people aren't able to.

Consistency and customer support is all wonky. Though, even if you manage to find a gem. I hear stories all the time about Chinese suppliers who offer great initial products and then flood buyers with defective crap. Of course, not always the case, but you know. I'm just wary.

@@pcblahhehehe. They flood the world with cheap crap. Thats how they make money. People be lik well i can buy this at china shop cause its cheaper. Than if it breaks ....buy again from china shop cause its cheap. Do i buy some stuff from them? Yes. But im picky. I always try to buy something that at least looks and feels like its gona last more than a year. Im surprised to having bhought a decent knife for bushcraft thats made in china. Ok no handle but its solid and full tang. With red rope wrapped through and around for grip. I did some batoning, carving and cutting with it. If i sharpen it again now, then it will be the 3rd time i sharpen it. Ok i dont use it everyday but for what i did like batoning and carving than after cleaning , being able to cut meat easily. My dad was in Aden and Egypt during the Suez crisis, and he swore by hot tea, and the Arabs did too. A hot drink will affect your core body temperature, on a cold day it can raise it and on a hot day it can reduce it. And tea can quench a thirst longer as well.

I've used those type tent pegs before. Works great for dense hardpacked dirt, miserable failure in soft dirt or sand. Each style has it's pros and cons. Down here in sandy Florida they'd be useless, but up in the Blue Ridge Mountains they are the only type that'll work in the rocky hardpack! The typical plastic pegs will shatter trying to drive them in.

Best tent I've ever had cost me £20 new from a bargain shop. It sleeps 4 comfortably, has 2 inner sleeping pods with bug nets and groundsheets, but doesn't have an overall integral groundsheet, so I use a small tarp for the middle section. It's perfect short trips.

Hello! Thank you for cooking inspiration! Me and my partner are currently cooking a big piece of pork belly based on your video!

well make sure you learn how to make crackling rather than the solid rubber envelope he had on his rind.

All the trees in my area are stripped of branches because everyone tries to be a bushcrafter If you need to hang things, and you have trees around, use a friggin guyline. Not only is it light, it is reusable, and much more durable. Please practice LNT.

I haven't been camping in a long time, 45 years. I would always choose & used Fallen logs or dead branches. Fire up Quicker & Hotter fire, Green Wood Does Last Longer though !

If you make a slip knot it is much easier to truss you cuts of meat. Tie a loop on one end. Place your item on top of the butcher's twine. Thread the tag end through the loop and pull to desired tension. Then just pass the tag end under the string 2 or 3 times to lock it down on itself. I usually just do one long piece and work my way down the cut of meat. Works especially well for pork loins as well as pork and beef tenderloin. Cheers my friend.

Thanks Andy for the video. First class as always. Nobody can see the preparation that goes into your camps. Just like me when I was a scout leader. We only see the result at the end. Brilliant video thanks for sharing.
