Thanks for sharing this video. I am currently in the Ouachita National Forest on 12/30/24. I am 3-4 miles from the closest road. I'm laying in my Warbonnet hammock inside a hot tent. It is 45 F so I didn't bring a stove. It is awesome watching my brother on the other side of the pond doing the same thing. I just wish I had a gourmet dinner like Kent always has. Peace and prosperity to EVERYONE in 2025.

Dude you don't need an expensive tent for it to be good. You just need a easy to put up tent that is waterproof and your set. I use a backpack from blacks that was £20 and it's all you need haha

I would really enjoy a mid fall camp in the Wind River mountains of Wyoming with your set up. I have canvas wall tents to cover with a heavy silver tarp and frame to handle the snow load late fall. Another excellent video and camp sir… and obviously… the cooking

Have the tent. Don't hammock at all but at the price range and it's ability to easily fit 2 cots it works great for me. I've gotten into the habit of building an interior stick frame that I tie together which really limits the tents movement in wind. So far so good. Built my own wood stove from a 50'' tool box which works great and burns considerably longer than my small collapsible...although the large stove is not really an option if your hiking a good distance. Used it (tent and stove) several times in the winter here (Ontario Canada) and stayed toasty all night.

I just tried setting it up and the other vids do not use those center loops in the ridgeline. It seems more taut just tying off the ends of the ridgeline. So I need to re-set up the tent. Do you have a vid of your internal frame? I bought adjustable paint poles as they are only $7 each or so. six of them but - still craving a frame. Do you get it to the 6 feet 1 inch height? Would like to be able to stand up in this tent. thanks

@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 I can make a short vid if you want but its pretty basic. I used pvc angled joints for the top front and rear (A shaped junction) from there I cut wood to fit snugly into pvc which forms the A - part of frame on either end. Make sure they end where the roof meets the walls of tent. On the inside wall part of tent I drive in 4 foot sections of cut wood 1/2 inch diameter, 3 on one side, 3 on the other. I join them with cordage or tie-wraps using a continuous piece of wood on each side running the length of the tent...so for each of the three anchors on each side you have a long beam lashed to the top of them on each side. Picture a short fence. You then attach the A- frame part of your roof (making sure to have your center pole connected to the pvc as well.) If you want extra strength for your center roof beam lash two lengths of wood together. I use a cot so I'm able to use a central support beam. In high wind conditions I've added additional beams running from wall to roof. Note that you should still tie off your external cordage and be sure to remove any protrusions that could damage the tent from your main roof beam. Sounds complicated but it only takes me about 35 min to set the frame up now alone. Much quicker with help.

Hi Andy Very strange but interesting set up. I like the personalized touch on the stove. Don't know if anyone has said before but you have a very unique axe swing the way you tip out sideways when you get into the swing upward. I thought the Kompound was a nice hammock until I bought a hammock gear bug net hammock and dutchgear beetle buckles. I still have the kompound but I never use it. I replaced the ridge line with a proper one along with new continuous loops and whoopie slings. You can make all of those mods yourself with a few feel of zing-it 2.2 and some 7/64 Amsteel for the whoopie slings. You could even repurpose the existing straps to make a set of huggers.

I just replaced them because Amsteel is nice. dutchwaregear.com/product/adjustable-structural-ridgelines/#type-size The whoopie version dutchwaregear.com/product/amsteel-continuous-loops/ 2x 8” 7/64th All of that is around $20 or less. You can make your own(I do my own now) too. 2.2mm zing-it/lash-it. They are basically the same thing. Dutch and others have videos on how to install them. It’s really easy. Pull out the old loops and install new with new ridge line attached. You don’t need the biner(carabiner) option for the ridge line. You can even remove the cover hooks and slide them onto the new ridge line so you won’t lose functionality.

If you don’t like their tree straps you can buy a set of whoopie slings and make huggers out of your old tree straps. I just bought an entirely new suspension. It’s glorious. Yeah - everyone else does not use the tent ridgeline loops but just ties off the ends of the tent ridgeline. Seems like that enables a more taut tent with it being higher. I don’t use this system but I used to and for cost, ease of use and solid structurally, it doesn’t get better. He uses a self tightening truckers hitch in this video. That kind of complicates the system and adds complexity. I used it and it’s awesome but it’s unneeded. Watch one of his videos on a basic truckers hitch. And then the prusik knot. This system is strong, cheap and easy. All you need is rope and a stick for a toggle. Or you can just run the line through the bowline knot to attach the tarp to the tree. The toggle just makes it so you don’t have to thread 25-30 feet of rope through it to tie off to the tree.

I'm already a subscriber to lonewolf 902. He camps out alot and into alot of things. He's fixed up his truck with wooden planks and he's got a bed in there and orger things. He's putting in lights so his truck will light up all over. You have a good channel also.. I'm subscribed to alot of people that go out and do things on their own. Corporals corner is a good show.
