Those L Series trucks looked so modern for the time. It was such a clean and straightforward design that still looks good over 50 years later.

I couldn't agree more, when the LN series first came out in 1970,not only was it a good looking truck, but it was nice designed well laid out truck that was fairly easy to service.

I will never understand why Ford abandoned the heavy duty truck segment. They sold great, lasted a long time and had excellent parts support.

Wow!!! I absolutely loved this!!! The Ford LNT, LTS LTL and CLT are my favourite truck hands down. I would take a LNT or LTS any day over a Peterbilt or Kenworth all day every day! My uncle was one of the first owners to run a LNT 9000 dump truck in 1970 here in southwestern Ontario Canada. It was the first truck I learned to drive on in 1982. I loved the cockpit style instrument panel inside. It was laid out for a real driver to appreciate without having to take your eyes off the road for too long.

We had good luck with those older L8000 trucks. Always liked the cab better than international S line. I love how the old Dayton style wheels aren’t even running straight at the assembly plant 😂😂

Notice all the people wearing a white shirt, and a tie! My dad was so happy to not need a tie and could wear any color of shirt to work in 1976, when he took a new job designing stuff. When working at Hughes Aircraft in 1955 to 1970, it was all business, tie and white shirt, and a sports coat going into and when going home from the office. Great video, brings back some fond memories. I was thinking the 1969 trucks look a lot like the 1980 trucks! Seems like they did not make a lot of changes. At my work, in 1997, they had a 1982 F-650 COE truck, and it basically looked exactly like the 1959 model! Fun fact, difference between the F-7000 and F-700? The diesel is used in the 7000 and 8000 series, while the gas engine is used in the 700 series. They used a lot of gas engines back in the 60's! Even the WW2 trucks that they produced so many of in 1943 - 45, all gas engine 6 cylinder with about 235 cubic inches! I was impressed on what a small engine displacement it is, considering it is a 10 wheel truck. The 1969 F-600 and F-700 could be had with a 391 engine or a 534, maybe other displacements too!

Ford was serious in the late '60s where the company scanned Gateway's competative repair orders on White, Internationals, GMC's and Macks ........to enable Ford to have lower cost of ownership .

@@J-1410 the ford 332 are such pieces of shit so gutless and slow the head design was so terrible that the engine could not breathe compared to my 1980 ford ln7000 with the cat 3208 diesel it performed a hell lot more than the ford gas engines
