I saw them open for Hank Jr in the old omni convention Center in Atlanta in 91 or so, the drummer did a drum solo for what seems like 10 minutes man, he wailed on them things . after he was done he jumped over the drum set and did a shirtless pose down that Arnold Schwarzenegger would have been proud of. Pretty awesome concert all the way around

That this song peaked at #25, back then, tells you how great the music was in those days. To me this was a strong candidate for the best country song of the year, and I don't care where they put it on the charts. This song grows on you, and you sing along with it, so many others you get tired of and they burn out from too many listenings. I think this is one of the most inspired songs of it's time, for all the elements coming together so beautifully.

I danced to this at the Barn in Sanford Florida. Garth Brooks played there to in 1989. I loved those days , the great country music 🥰

His name is Robert Young, and I believe he's in his seventies now. He still tours as a member of the Kentucky Headhunters to this day.
