Thanks for the video! Why is there No Mirror On/Off functionality for the front/left/right cameras? Is there any way to reverse the video input?

Is there a way to have all factory cameras plus the dash cam hooked up? I can't find any reference to that, and while I'd like to have the Kenwood dash cam, I want to retain the factory front cam. Specifically, I have the Kenwood DNR1007XR which has four camera outputs.

To use the 4th input< you can use a regular standard cable (available online for $2 - $4) by doing this: 1. Plug the Yellow connector coming from your device into the Red connector on the standard cable so the video signal is on the tip of the plug. 2. Plug the White connector coming from your device into the White connector on the standard cable so the left audio signal is on the first ring of the plug. 3. Plug the Red connector coming from your device into the Yellow connector on the standard cable so the right audio signal is on the second ring of the plug.

Cant you use the Maestro RR2 and have it switch your video using this Kenwood model?
@jeffh21253 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the elaborate explanation, although I wish you would have shown the connectors for the cameras on the back in addition to the useless av-in that you pointed out. In the manual on Page 105 it shows video connectors 10-13 all seemingly going into the same single port. What's going on there?

I just found a video that answers my question - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHLWhZWJe899nMU All the cables are hanging out of that location in the back of the head unit. In the drawing it looks like a port, but it's a hole where four wires are coming out for each video input source. Thanks

Can you use left and right cameras for blind spot monitoring?

You can have left and right cameras connected to this radio, but there is no turn signal switching inputs, if you need turn signal switching you need an external video switcher

Hi, excellent video. Question, is there a way to use all 4 cameras as 360 degrees view, or it will show only one at a time? I wonder if it will work with the original 360 degree camera system on my 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
@LockdownSecurity Жыл бұрын
No the camera inputs can only be used 1 at a time, no ability to use for a 360 degree view.

With SVS 6 you lose configurable guide lines for the rear camera (or will have them displayed for all other cameras, which sucks). If your rear camera isn’t centred, not having guide lines configured for that is a big problem.

are you sure the 3.5mm av-in is proprietary? Ive only ever seen a 3.5mm av jack work one way. The video pin is always either second to the front pin or the pin at the very base of the connector. Both are common standards.
@LockdownSecurity2 жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure (if it is proprietary), however when trying some generic cables, we noticed they did not work, but when you use the Kenwood brand cable, works perfectly.

I heard that you could mirror your phone off the AV input, but without the right cable how is that going to work?
@tpmacleod2 жыл бұрын
You have to purchase the Kenwood specific cable to be able to mirror your phone. When I set it up, the quality was quite poor and many apps did not work.

You must have a camera plugged into the RCAM input on the back of the radio, then in settings you must turn the RCAM input ON.

Can you have camera on all the time?
@LockdownSecurity2 жыл бұрын
You can display any of the 4 cameras (one at a time) all the time, but this resets when the radio turns off, so you have to "turn" on the input by pressing the CAM button, then touching the screen to select which camera to display.

For the dash camera.. is there storage buffer? and do you access it via usb or download the video. Or is this not the function of the dash camera? thx.
@BradSk883 жыл бұрын
The kenwood decks do not have on-board storage for cameras. Their DRV-N520 camera has storage built into the camera itself.
@michaelkiese77943 жыл бұрын
@@BradSk88 that stinks. The whole reason you’d want 4 cameras is so you can constantly record in case you need to defend yourself in court.
