The best 27 mod is to mod the fix/vfo switch and fit the diodes so it actually reads 27! I got a 130 that had all the buffers replaced with 2sc945’s. Completely dead because they had been put in backwards even though they were clearly marked on the silkscreen 😂

I still have my TS-120V which I bought in 1980. It is about 500Hz off frequency on 40 and 1Khz on 20M, it has a few battle scars, probably from traveling over 100,000 Km up and down the Australian east coast and across to Western Australia many times. I should put it on the bench, probably needs a leaf blower to blow the dust off it first.

I've got a length of coax going out to my van, connected to a 20m hamstick this evening, TS120V on my desk making contact after contact at 10 watts QRP. For some weird reason the TS120V at 10W into a severely compromised antenna performs consistently better than my other radios at 100W into a longwire or dipole.
