awesome stuff!m a old 80s trucker.I just recently met my neighbor hes a old walmart truckdriver he drove for them for 35 years. I woulda never know that but i was going to take dog for a walk i said screw it im going to go over and say hi and saw him sitting outside alone on his back deck.here to find out hes a retired 35 year vet of walmart.I was wowed he showed me bunch of old pictures and i showed him some of mine and now we kinda like best friends but hes kinda cocky for being 73 but hes cool and in shape:).walmart used to have backing contests maybe they still do but he has a award for 2nd in usa and a trophy i saw it.they had to do blindside backing and stuff the pic looked like they where in a big indoor arena with cones. he said i coulda got first but my hand slid on steering wheel from sweat and being nervious.he grinned at me and said im sure theres way better out there now with all that new tech stuff and we laughed and had a beer.I respect all truck drivers for sure!he had to end it with i bet you woulda woulda wished you woulda drove for walmart instead of that outfit you called a company..I had to laugh cause its so true

Getting water out of a puddle, now that is old school right there...lol I have to say James, you are determined to get this thing home and I don't blame you. I just hate that your having all these little issues, that are big issues in getting it home. It is a fatigue that is pleasant because you did something that makes you feel proud of what you do and share trips with your wife and pet, which is the most important thing. You're finding all kinds of interesting things in the truck. But once you get all the bugs out, both mechanical and literal, it will be one awesome rig. Sorry James for all the troubles you had to get a dream truck home. Millions made yet it seems like so few left. I went by a lot of wrecking yards to see a lot of them just parked up for a bunch of reasons. One of the very noticeable reasons was big trucking companies paid crap wages to turn out drivers for swift or a bunch of them... ninety nine percent were those little fuel squeezers an just horrible to drive, max out at fifty five. Seventy one series detroits that gave detroit a real bad name. many were smashed in the front making you wonder how many died because of being so damn tired. You are home now so sleep on it

Sounds like the Internationals I drove at J.B. Hunt. They were the fuel squeezers that never had power to pull up mountains very well. One year I think 1998, they turned them down to 59mph and kept them that way for over two years. Many drivers left due to that.

7:05 It seems like a quiet and beautiful place. With that landscape you want to be under a tree resting all one Sunday. 22:34 I don't know what the other board you mention would be like, but that board, apart from being practical to disassemble, has a very good meter layout. Perhaps I would have liked that truck to have a larger speedometer and rev counter. 24:25 That's what I said at the beginning of the comment haha. I was not wrong in saying that the place is beautiful. 👏👏👏

Odin found a hiding spot in Marla’s bunk. I figured he would there’s tons of cubby holes in there. Looks like you had a decent trip tho. Be interesting to see how the repairs go. Curious what kind of that old truck is supposed to use? Been so long since I was around them I forgot. I’m thinking they used straight weights like 50W. But like I said been a long while since I was around them. Looks to be a really good starting point. Hopefully you didn’t chew up the steers too bad because you said it needs an alignment. Can’t wait to see where you take her.
