Only persons with Nuclear know-how should be given a platform, these activism everywhere is what keeps this nation below. Its technology advancement and industries, that build a country. Konza City , Dongo kundu & Lapsset all require about 25% more energy than current,. For a country to industrialize it needs diverse and reliable energy sources. Activist cum lawyers and politicians should stay out of these processes and allow professionals to prevail. A perfect Guest for this Forum! He has explained, to the lazy to read and chewed it enough for fools consumption, Asante Engineer.

@yayo_mfalme Your kind don't understand power and I can tell you, they most bitter people with Ruto are the fools who voted him at the 1st place,. Even myself who never voted for him, knows he's going nowhere until 2027 and as things look it will be harder to beat him even then. So be objective or even in bed you will protest Ruto, and might end up being alone. That time will come, but also be prepared to live with it..I dnt feed myself from politics, now not unless you do, its wise to concentrate on your life.

Information is power.Nuclear should not be feared but understood, and many people fear what they dont know. Nuclear power energy is fundamental.

highly informative,very articulate ,For a country to industrialize it needs diverse and reliable energy sources, solar we have,geothermal we have , hydro we have , now we are looking at nuclear eng knows his act so well, the only thing cost of bringing it up ,its distribution , and who is paying the bill ...we shall rise from 2800mw to 15000plus mw.....wish him well and thanks for good job and congrats

If it was a good project then cops would not have gone to break the arms of people protesting it. We have seen these engineers in government draw up good plans only for them to end up being scandalous projects that lack transparency on their true costs to the tax payers, this is an even more dangerous game, and people should keep in mind that once a nuclear plant starts producing electricity there's already a future cost of dismantling it and all it's radioactive waste that has been activated, it's not just the used fuel rods you have to worry about and that's already a big technical problem for the most advanced nations. But the fuel will contaminate the entire reactor core and all those thousands of tons of material will need to be processed safely for the area to become livable again. That alone makes nuclear a very dangerous form of energy production. Solar doesn't have that problem, neither does geothermal, neither does wind. Plus there's the security cost over the next century to ensure that no matter what, the plant is never breached by terrorists and we never have a corrupt regime in place that would sell off the fuel rods, again, solar, wind and geothermal don't have such a problem. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done. A corrupt country like Kenya should not access nuclear energy and I say so as a patriotic Kenyan. These engineers who sign off these projects, if the projects even get built and don't turn out to be scams like arror and kimwarer, should take a long hard look at themselves. Once you destroy the land, which people have lived on for thousands of years, who will fix your mess?

Nuclear power is a renewable resource and VERY safe. Many people do not recognize this fact. Interestingly these people also fear flying in planes 😂

Based on what I know about Nuclear, citizens should not allow that to happen. Containing the radiation is not something Africans can control.

Nuclear power is not a solution. we already have enough base load sources for this country. we have just utilized 10% of Geothermal energy, All the resources should be focused on the remaining 90%. Nuclear energy has waste management issue and its causing the western countries shut down their reactors, That should be an eye opener to our country Kenya. The only time we will accept nuclear energy is just in Medicine and Agriculture. Don't waste KENYA Resources in setting up an energy plant, We need strategic energy planning. Don't lead Kenya to where we will have to re-introduce the IPP's when the plants will be shutting down.
@stijn26442 ай бұрын
it's not the waste management issue that is causing western countries to shut down their reactors, it's left politics that don't like nuclear. In fact western countries are looking to expand their nuclear energy infrastructure.

**Germany's decision to phase out nuclear power was primarily driven by safety concerns following the Fukushima disaster in Japan in 2011.** The accident highlighted the potential risks associated with nuclear power, even in countries with strong safety regulations. Additionally, there were growing public concerns about the long-term storage of nuclear waste and the potential environmental impact of nuclear power. Germany also aimed to transition to a more sustainable energy mix, relying more heavily on renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. The phase-out process began shortly after the Fukushima disaster and was completed in 2022.

Talk is cheap. Nuclear is not something to be toyed with. Possible tall order safety measures. Should only be explored after exhausting other sources.
