KENYANS IN OMO VALLEY! 2,400km Jade Sea Expedition! Part 2

The Jade Sea Expedition was the most insane, most insidious, most daring, most epic roadtrip ever attempted in Kenya!
A 9 days' off-road adventure circumnavigating the Lake Turkana from its eastern shores into Ethiopia and to the western shores of Lake Turkana.
This 2,400kms off-road expedition took on the treacherous backroads of the Northern Kenya's most beautiful yet inhospitable landscapes and crossing into Southern Ethiopia and back to Kenya. Over 1,000kms of the trip was offroad!
After having made it to Koobi Fora successfully and without major drama, we proceed into Ethiopia. We get into a little drama of being stopped by 3 Land Cruisers full of soldiers, but that is quickly resolved.
We use Day 5 to rest our tired bodies, carry out repairs to 4 cars, shop, fuel up and explore Turmi Town and its villages.

🙏🏼👊🏼Its quite costly to carry a mech with us. Guys are required to prepare their cars very thoroughly and to carry spares of things that are known or are likely to break down. Amongst us, we always have guys who know about vehicles and we do repairs ourselves. We also never lack mechs on the routes, but can lack spares on the areas we visit hence why we carry spares including alternators, starters, radiator caps, stabilizer links etc.

I hope that Fozzy carried enough race fuel for this trip because if not, detonation will be their friend. Seeing it’s a DIT… 💀. As others have said on here, a well put together trip 👌🏽. @@TheMaraNomads1920MN Saw the convoy topped up non-premium fuel severally along the way. XT requires 91 onwards so on off road trips one’s upsides to carry race fuel to mix in w/ every other regular gas top up or else detonation occurs. That was the only concern I had w/ it. I know the tripping bit is the main attraction but throw us some mechanical deets - The breakdowns, the bush repairs, etc. A small section of us would totally love it 😅. Great work! I can’t believe I wasn’t a subscriber. All in now.

Hearing guys speaking fluent Kiswahili was so nice! But we were racing to cross the border back to Kenya. We had a very long distance still to cover before nightfall at that point. Plus cross a river that we were not sure it had water or not, and which had no bridge.
