Kenyans see fellow protesters killed in front of them but refuse to back down

Protesters have again taken to the streets of the Kenyan capital Nairobi, despite the president backing down in the face of anger over planned tax increases on everyday goods.
They angrily shout "Ruto must go" as some throw rocks and glass bottles at police while dodging tear gas canisters and stun grenades.

The protesters need to develop a more cohesive plan and leadership to chart a way forward beyond just demanding Ruto's removal. Protesttors do not offer a clear solution or path forward if Ruto were to leave office. The protesters have succeeded in forcing Ruto's hand on the finance bill, but the broader political and economic challenges facing Kenya remain unresolved.
