Should he visit Kenya at a time when the situation on the ground is volatile? Is it fair for him to be concerned about his safety and that of his crew members? If you want people to visit Kenya then Kenyans and their government must get their acts together and make Kenya hospitable to potential visitors. Burning Spear truly understands the lyrics of his music and how it could be used to fuel the chaos even further. I'm sorry my friends from Kenya but the cancelation is reasonable 😒

The younger generation are protesting to free the country from the clutches of a few individuals who are mismanaging the economic affairs. It is not a war. 7th July, there was a big concert and no guns nah buss. A few kilometres from the concert venue, the Olympic trials are in progress. There is no safety concern for him and his crew, unless he turned into a politician overnight sans my knowledge. About Rodney's lyrics: these young revolutionaries are chanting Bob Marley, Chezidek, Richie Spice lyrics which are deeper and more meaningful and applicable to their struggle. I do not have in mind any song from Rodney that would inspire them, let alone cause a spark. We also have our very own Eric Wainaina, Juliani, Bien etc who sing more radical songs.

No my brother Burning Spear is NOT a 6 time Grammy nominee..The last I counted years ago was 12 nominations with 2 of them being victories.. Virtually every Burning Spear album since Resistance in 1985 have received a Grammy nominations. I'm sure of that...!!!
