agree .. God's own country ...thats what we hear about kerala in North ... but i have one complain (in a friendly manner please dont take it wrong sir ) ..why is there so much mistrust between us ..i mean our respective people .. i have a great respect for people of kerala ...but recently some incident got me a negative vibe .. i work in a corporate ..and as part of extra activities we organised a play ...i was directing the play ...i assigned a role to my friend from kerala she read the script and accepted the role ....the play went well .... but suddenly some other guy from kerala in our organisation (whom i didn't know) accused me of bias ... he said that i assigned such and such role to my friend thushara because she was from kerala .... that was literally shocking to me ...that was first time in my life i was accused of something like that .... consider my background ..studied in a convent in Delhi where more than 75% staff was from Kerala ...their instituition had headquarters in thiruvananthapuram .... almost half my life i grew up with that staff and teachers as well as classmates from kerala ... some of whom are still my best buddies ....so i would be the last person to do any discrimination ..... i was deeply hurt the way that guy (name Renjith) accused me ....though he was not able to prove anything as my friend thushara told the management that she had taken the role voluntarily and had no problem with it ..she was actually praised by audience for her role ......but yes people like renjith had to accuse me ....since then i have been afraid of mixing up with kerala people ...dont get me wrong i still love them and respect them ...but totally confused about this level of mistrust .....can anyone from kerala tell me where i went wrong ..or the reason of this kind of mistrust

@@techtonicdiaries8699 A single person can't represent a whole society..Every human have ego.. can't say whether your decision to give that role to Thushara hurt him..The main problem we Malayalis facing in other states is partiality in the basis of language..In our state we are not misbehaving to the people so called 'Bengalis' working here while we are facing so many humiliation in other states.. Sometimes they don't like to have friendship with us..This would be the reason for Ranjith to accuse you... You can see this hate toward Malayalis in Comment section..They are trying to defame us by calling us communist but they can't measure how much benefits this communist government gave us....

We have too many wrong misunderstandings about each other ( the south and the north People) that even before we get to meet the other, we make up a notion in our minds that we won't be accepted and will be mistreated. This must be the reason. And the difference in political opinions and all would lead to it too. But from my experience I'll say this- when we get a bit close we realise that people aren't all that different anyway, as Indians we share more in common than our differences.

There is just a whole culture of mistrust that is being perpetuated by ( sorry to politicize, my apologies) the lotus party as they donot have nearly as much support in the south... and Kerala is pretty anti- hindu- supremacist. And we are a communist party lead state this term (keeps shifting between communist and inc) ... And hence ... There is just so much hatred for kerala So they perpetuate hatred towards the south .... Through social media and news and just directly insulting... My friends working in the northern states say there is a steady rise in hatred towards keralites in the workplace since the lotus party came to power.... We can feel it here too.... During the floods in kerala. The total damge was estimated at 12000 crore rupees and the centre allowed us a relief amout of a measly 600 crores.... I stop and wonder if the same would be the case if it had occured in Gujarat or mp..... The pm called kerala Somalia..... To our face..... They are trying to force hindi down our throats.... these are just some of the atrocities..... Respect and trust is to be earned .... it's mutual.... People of the north are not to blame for their mistrust in non- hindi speaking community.... And vice-versa.... But the people in power and the media vomiting out their lies on to the public..... Yo Rick, my grandma is from Allapuzha so I have been watching this annual race every year on TV for many years. It's absolutely astounding how much stamina these guys have. Also this race is a very huge annual event almost festival like environment.

This boat race is such a marvel! I mean, they have to keep this rhythm as a team and if they break it their momentum is interrupted. I find that so amazing! And these people are not technically athletes. They are normal people who come together, work as a team and win it. It is all about team work! Also, it sounded (possibly unintentionally) that it started when the president came. But it goes further back.

Actually there are more such races like this over the period of August in different location of Allapuzha to compete with one another, but Nehra trophy is considered the most honoured one(like the world cup)...those person hitting hard at the centre are giving a rhythm so that every person can give the stroke at the same time to produce max efficiency...

From what I've heard training starts months before on the actual race boats which are preped before hand polished and inspected. Participants train hard 4 hrs in the morning and 4 hrs in the evening for 3 months

This is the place you should visit in India... don’t bother with Mumbai, the Taj Mahal etc ... this is where you wanna go. It’s pronounced “KAY-RAH-LAA”.... also euphemistically called “God’s own country”.... it’s a beautiful land with beautiful culture, food, and traditions.... you have backwaters, beaches, rain forests, mountains and everything in between.... also I almost forgot to mention, this place makes the best movies in India.... if you thought Nawazuddin was great, you will be blown away by the performances of Mohanlal, Mammootty, Thilakan, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha etc... some of the directors here are leagues better than Vishal Bharadwaj etc.... this is where you wanna go in India.

Guys that snake boat is around 100ft long. The guys with the long oars in the back actually steer the boat to go straight. During ancient times Snake boats were meant to transport the soldiers of the Travancore Maharajah's. Hundred or more oarsmen are there in a snake boat, that means one boat can carry hundred soldiers at a time in one boat.
