Introduction
Toor dal - 1 cup
Shallots - 12 to 13 nos
Tomatoes - 2 nos
Ginger - 1 nos
Garlic - 6 to 7 nos
Curry leaves - 3 or 4 sprigs
Dry red chilli - 3 or 4 nos
Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
Mustard seed - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 or 2 tsp
Oil - 3 or 4 tbsp
Method
Take a bowl add toordal and wash them well.
Drain and set aside.
Take pot add cleaned toor dal,water and salt
Then add some turmeric powder
Cover and cook the Dal until evenly cooked and mushy.
Then crush the shallots and set aside.
Then grind ginger ,garlic and dry red chilli into smooth paste and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed ,let it crackle
Then add crush shallots and ginger ,dry red chilli mix,saute them well.
Then add curry leaves ,tomatoes and salt , saute till they become soften.
Then add cooked toor dal and water ,stir them well.
Then add some salt and mix them well.
Cook it on a high flame until the Dal gets curry like consistency.
Remove from fire and set aside.
Serve the tasty curry with chapati
