Many applied multiple times before they were admitted, and the thing that they were most surprised about after getting selected was the fact that they fully passed the medical exam.

Concerning the Eurovision Song Contest: Eurovision is part of the European Broadcasting Union which is ... well, a union of a number of broadcasting companies in and around Europe (whose countries may enter contestants) as well as some associated members all over the world (including Australia, which was a guest for the 60 year anniversary and for some reason can enter the contest again this year, this time going through the semi-finals). So the ESC is strictly a contest organized by the EBU members (which, again, aren't limited to Europe), it's not the EUROPEAN Song Contest. I'm fairly certain that in-depth information about Australia's participation would fill more than a KZbin comment (even if I knew the details about that).

Stockport is a surprisingly rad place, it has a model flying airshow, a lovely beach, a small scale railway at the beach and a miniature scale railway run by enthusiasts both of which offer rides, too, and the latter is between a model car racing track and model boat pond. Also, one of the best Italian restaurants I've been in. And now I hear there local brewery is called Unicorn. 11/10 such rad.

Eurovision has been broadcast by SBS Australia for over 10 years now, and for some reason it's really popular here. Under Eurovision rules, for a country to qualify the station that broadcasts the show must be a member of the European Broadcasting Union - and SBS is a member. So Australia technically qualifies. We provided the "half time" entertainment in 2014, and competed last year (came 5th!) and we have another entry for this year. Should Australia win, there is a high probability the show will go to London for broadcasting. So that's why Aus is in Eurovision.

To clarify the Australia Joining the Eurovision song contest. As I understand it, for some reason the Eurovision song contest is immensely popular in Australia, millions watch it there, but of course they were never able to join in for obvious reasons so last year they were allowed to join in as a 1 time gig. However their act proved so popular and came in fifth place that they were allowed to return this year. However, in case Australia wins the contest, the next year it will not be held in Australia. They will co-op with a European broadcaster to organize the event somewhere in Europe.
@Wyrmlingbait8 жыл бұрын

I don't know if you still reading comments here, or if it was answered later in the video. But yes Australia is in the contest. The reason is that the popularity of the contest is very high there and have been televised on Australian television for over thirty years. On the 60th anniversary of the contest they were invited to the contest to honour that.

On the topic of open source software, I think it's important to remember that commercial software and closed source software should not be equated. There's plenty of commercial open source software (e.g. dual licensed, but there are many other ways to earn money with open source). There's also plenty of non-commercial closed source code.

Wish KSP had a distance sensor that could call actions. For example; the user would attach a small object that projects a 'beam' from 0 (the sensor) to a maximum variable. and if anything collides with the sensor beam == trigger action event. Gmod had similar sensors.... and they worked well for building RTS style pods that would "hover" above the ground or for activating thrusters to make automated landers. KSP could be a great leaning tool for logic if they incorporated scripting as well as they have done the space / nasa thing. just commenting on a video from several years ago.. don't mind me

I've downloaded the demo yesterday. Pretty fun stuff, but those stuff I had are SO FRAGILE. Like the only thing that can survive the atmospheric re-entry is the command pod and the parachute (if you turn the parachute away, of course. Also funny thing is that in my first career mode rocket I forgot to separate the parachute and the engine into the separate stages… amazingly, Jebbediah (and the whole rocket) survived.
@forgilageord8 жыл бұрын
+Vengirni Did you use a heatshield?
@Vengir8 жыл бұрын
Forgi LaGeord There is no heatshield in the demo. All you have is the command pod's belly (and even then you can only use the basic one). What you have at disposal (with research, of course) are: -two pods (one manned and one unmanned) -one parachute -two kinds of solid fuel boosters -one kind of liquid fuel engine -two kinds of fuel tanks -one kind of fin -a radial decoupler -a stack decoupler -RCS -a round tank for RCS (I think) -torque wheel -a launch holder -a bunch of sciency stuff (mystery goo, material lab, antenna, and probably something else) -an AAAA battery pack I could have forgot something, since I wrote it out of my head, but this is basically the most important stuff. Try reaching an orbit with these! I had kinda cheated and copied the design from tutorial.

I have a large stock of old hardware too, especially ATI cards. prebuild pc with ati mach 64 IGP rage 128 vl rage 128 pro rage ultra (both versions) mobility radeon 7500 radeon 9000 radeon 9800 pro with the better nand layout (410/365) radeon x800 visiontek radeon 2600 pro agp 512MB DDR2(flashed to get powerplay working 785/585) gecube 3850 256MB GDDR3 (flashed) gigabyte 4670 1GB GDDR3 5650M 1GB GDDR3 5670 1GB GDDR5 crossfireX with 3200 2x EAH6850 2x Twin Frozr 270x I also have a working Riva TNT 2 with a fan added, as well as a Voodoo 3 3000 running at 3500 clocks with a fan added. You might have guessed the voodoo has the best custom drivers. The 3 way fight between the rage pro, the riva 2 and the voodoo 3000 would land the voodoo as the benchmark winner today just because of drivers. I also own a pentium 4 3.4GHz prescott, the most powerful cpu for the 478 socket outside of the extreme editions, which lack SSE3 so thats debatable anyway. I have some matrox and s3 cards as well, and Im gonna put in an xfx 7900 GS in the athlon 64 system and get a 3700+ clawhammer if I can get it cheap
