A nice addition to the flares would be a Green one ... which gives a destination for the locomotive AI who in turn continues to the destination throwing the correct switches as it goes and returning them to home position as it passes though them .

Oh god just wait till you start getting higher tier contracts, I just got a tier 2 contract for the sawmill, first delivery was 11 cars, that doesn't even fit on the switchback. And to go along with that, I had 13 more cars for the bridge in Bryson and a car for the freight house. My poor G-25 had to pull 24 cars through the yard.

Marker lights on locomotive White is unscheduled extra or a train not on the time table so like a mow train Green is a following section of an earlier train used when a scheduled train is to big for a single engine and double heading isn't a viable option And red means youre looking at the back of the train

Whenever Kerbo is on the ground switching and controlling the loco, the real equivalent would be him giving the engineer and/or fireman hand signals. Also doesn't look like there are any signals, so train control must be the Ts: Timetables, Tokens, Track Warrants, Telecommunication, and Talking.

Signals are an upgrade. You can eventually have ABS or CTC control

I noticed you keep the reverser in full gear (all the way forward or all the way reverse) after you get moving bring the reverser back to about 30% off mid gear to conserve steam. The game doesn't simulate steam usage but it's the real world practice. Watch how the AI does it if you're not sure what I mean. Thanks for the fusee tip to automatically stop the AI, nice tip.

It's a fun little game. It needs a lot of work fleshing out the visuals like industries. But I like how it spares you much of the grunt work in RO, like running those crazy cranes and manually loading fuel a stick of wood at a time. Also I think where this will really shine is multiplayer.

the funny thing is.... you WANT air in the lines.. they're just like semi air brakes, air pressure actually releases the brakes, bleeding them applies the brakes

Not true. Train brakes work differently. Bleeding the brakes releases them, which is why bottling the air is bad practice. Once the air leaks out, the car can roll.

When you're on a curve, the opening between the cab and the tender pinches on the inside of the curve. I don't know that it's a bug per say, but turning sideways like you would IRL doesn't work either. 😂

So qeustion. i done some jobs and i notice that the cars from the jobs stay on the tracks with the items still in it. will they disapear after the contract ends? just like repairing the birdge there are 13 full cars now sitting at the bridge do they all just magicaly dissapear after a time?>?

No, the waybill will change when they're done loading or unloading. Hover over the car with your mouse or press Tab to see waybill destination

Does it matter what order you do the tutorial I was supposed to do the passenger car runaround but forgot instead I'm just going to put the coal hopper back in place since it's been filled and take the box car where it needs to go and drop off the passenger car at ela station

@@KerboOnYT don't know what's going on with my engine I'm supposed to drop off a box car at ela house I have it attached to the front of the train and I'm going to push it up along side the dock area so they can unload but the train won't pull it backwards from the front I have the anglecocks closed are they supposed to be closed when you move it's only going like 0.2 mph it's got building supplies in it are building supplies that heavy there might be a slight hill or uphill grade I'm going up to you never know

you need to be assigned to a job that has assigned equipment then you can add cars to the switch list either via each car or from the station agent window

Nerd here, but on the AI car counts, the rules say we can travel half the distance given in car counts. On your menu it says 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1... so AI should stop before you would get to 2. Needs a 3... lol... nerd out.

​@GameMode12 You would only shove a train for as far as was necessary (into a yard or industry or some special reason). Don't forget that someone on the crew has to protect that shove because the engineer wouldn't be able to see what was going on at that end. The reason you see so many videos of people shoving in this game is because there's no danger to it with 3rd person cam and there are no penalties. So it is just easier to shove rather than set up on a passing track and run the loco around to pull the train

Ctrl click the loco motive on the inspector tab go to the forth menu on top (i forget the title at this moment) and reselect manual should fix it.

Be sure you have the inspector window up for the correct loco. It's easy to get your wires crossed. I do that all the time.
