But I'll still tru to help! If you have social anxiety, you should probably talk to a psychologist that could help you overcome these issues. If you don't know where to meet people, start doing some activities and hobbies and go to events to meet new people. If your entire environment isn't really friendly to making friends, you should really try going to a new country to see whether you'll prefer this culture! lol starlink isnt happening. Free internet? capitalism hates free things. They will regulate and create laws and hurdles to the point where it will never be realized on any useful scale. The three companies that have a monopoly on inernet services will lobby politicians around the world to stop it dead in its tracks through as many laws and regulations as possible. why do you think we dont have it yet?
@connecticutaggie2 жыл бұрын
@@vividfiber6668 1) Starlink already happened, there are lots of people already using it 2) Who said anything about free? 3) Right now, Starlink does require collaboration with the local Government because the current Starlink satellites require a local base station. Once the new Starlink satellites with laser in orbit communications, this will no longer be required. The can force receivers into hiding but eliminating them will be very difficult.

There are some trees, just not native ones, mostly Monterey Cypress planted in the settlement, I think I also saw some type of European Aspen in that video, also not native. There is one native woody shrub, the Kerguelen Cabbage (Pringlea antiscorbutica), that looks like a head of Napa Cabbage stuck atop a small thick trunk, and one woody sub-shrub, Azorella selago, that looks like a green couch cushion with tiny sharp rosettes of leaves. The climate could either be classified as a heavily ocean-moderated tundra climate or a subpolar oceanic climate, and conditions there are very similar to the Faroe Islands. There is no permafrost in the lowlands and there are many bogs.

I got interested in this set of remote islands back in 1978 when I created a country called the Sovereignty of Camdenshire as an interactive simulation with others to study the political process and used this island as its national territory to include the Crozet Islands as the Commonwealth of North Canterbury. It's curious how differently the name of the islands have been pronounced. Here, its Ker-GOO-len. Others have pronounced it as KER-ge-len, Ker-guy-len and as Ker-geh-LEN. However its pronounced, I enjoy these videos about life on the island since, apart from encyclopedia entries back then, I knew very little about the islands themselves beyond the basics. To see it is a real treat. Thanks. Btw: the avatar is Camdenshire's national flag. Another btw, its not the South Indian Sea, but the South Indian Ocean.

@@towaritch Could still impact the flora though! With sheep/rabbits selectively eating things that'd normally survive. Or spread seeds around diufferently than the wind normally does. But I suspect the populations weren't recently established, if they weren't there already I'd hope they wouldn't introduce them now. A cat was also briefly shown, if I'd have to guess probably a ship cat descendant.

The quality of your productions is exquisite! If I were given the invitation to influence your style, the only thing I would humbly suggest would be that you speak in a more natural and casual manor. I'm not sure if there is a name for the speech style you employ, but I notice that a number of others use it as well...I am unable to appreciate the desire to do so... probably my own shortcoming.

Many thanks for the really interesting vid. With resident sheep and rabbits, and abundant fish, it would be wonderful if Kergullen could become self sufficient, at least in relation to food supply. Although there are no trees, the soil appears fertile and at least root vegetable should be possible, with seaweed as fertiliser. And with the winds as described, no reason it couldn't become self sufficient in respect of energy.
