I think you're taking the lyrics a bit too literally - it's like when everyone thought Forever Summer Holiday was about ignorance in the face of global warming when it wasn't - the song is open to interpretation.

@@videlectrix-music While the song probably is about climate change, I like to think that the themes are more broadly applicable - the weeping as people realize that 'it's true' could be more generally referring to a moment of realization as you learn that the world isn't the 'undiscovered forest' you thought it was - hence the video being focused on the band exploring what should be full of life and colour (in this case, the outside world), but instead finds it corrupted and contrary to how they imagined it. That's just my interpretation though, as it explains the frequent juxtaposition between childhood and adulthood that the song revolves around.

I feel like the boys have matured so much in their production. the beat and samples are getting better and better it's like early on, sarah adapted herself to their sound, but now gus and jamie are wrapping themselves around her voice too and it's all getting more harmonious

There's a lot I adored about the aesthetics and sound of their earlier works and while I do miss it to some extent I also love how the band's identity is ever shifting and maturing. I'm glad they returned to a more synth oriented sound as it is something they excel at
