As a former US Navy nuclear submariner myself I am fascinated by videos such as this. Great thanks. I hope to pay a visit someday soon and do a little exploring of my own. I also recommend the movie, "Das Boot", for anyone who wants to see this come alive.

Yes, Das boot is an excellent film to watch . I would recommend watching it in its original German with English subtitles. Thanks for watching and commenting

Windy out there on the bay. It was very interesting to see the scale of the construction. I never though to much about repairing or upgrading uboats before.

Yes, the pens are massive indeed, and worth a visit. If i could redo the filming now, then ive since got mics that would cut out the wind. 😁. Thanks for watching and commenting

I never realized K1 was only a single wet dock, with several drydocks that they actually raised the u-boat out of the water and transferred to the other pods. That's incredible. Thanks for the tour and the information, mate. That's really incredible!

I have been to Saint Nazaire (the location of the Normandy dock and of operation Chariot - the Greatest Raid of them All) If you go into the U boat pens (which are like most of them in some civilian use nowadays) you really appreciate the build quality, the enormous size and generally how awesome these pens are... the Germans did a wonderful job on the construction... The French, if they wanted to get rid of them, can not budge them or even chip them...

Got to give the Germans one thing . They always make it strong I’ve a 1904/39 dwm Mauser I love it still shoots like new 👌 glad they are our friends now and not our enemy

Good morning. The germans certainly over engineered a lot of there stuff, hence why everything still lasts 80 years onwards. And Yes i agree that we are now all friends. Thank you for watching and commenting 😊

Interesting and informative video. Thank you. BUT.................. Hopefully in the last four years since his was made you have obtained some very good WIND PROTECTORS for your microphones. It is very disconcerting and impossible to understand you when you are outside in the wind.
@bunkersfortificationsandme76885 ай бұрын
@@arniestuboud yes, the wind was a bit strong on that day. Hopefully the sound is better on other videos. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

@@bunkersfortificationsandme7688 Don't rely on the wind to cooperate. It never will. Get a "wind sock" for your microphone out of respect for all of us - and your own viewing.

Glad the Germans were better at building Uboat bunkers than you are at masking the microphone from the wind. And they were more tech savvy in most things than you are at the basics of coordinating the narration with the video! Enough of my critique - still a good vid!
