Miracles do happen. Kerry could tell me, I'm a plastic surgeon and I would not be surprised. So happy God was with him. Something simular happened to me in a car years ago.

Such an awesome interview. Thanks John for not getting in the way as so many interviewers do! Kerry is just so approachable and humble. I saw AD in 1984 at Cornerstone! (RIP) and one other time after that. How SAD the Christian music industry didn't promote the crap out of that awesome band. I still listen to this day! Bravo....

Kerry Livgren played some of his greatest guitar work on the Mastedon "3" cd. Or called John Elfante and Mastedon "Revolution of Mind" Jesus Christ is the Pilot- the runway - we as lost sinners are just "beat up lost luggage" that he decided to (by his love) pick up.

I believe I bought that 56' Les Paul SG original for my Stepson in a Pawn shop in Blue springs, Mo. If not I got one just like it red with black scratch guard. Oh, you've still got yours unless I got it somehow later or one just like it or similar. By the way I live in or am dying in Detroit where AD had their last gig. Strange I'm a Kansas City boy dying in Detroit like AD your band did.

That incident actually happened in 1988. Kerry had Zion guitar's Kenny Marshall regret it I believe. I walked with Kerry out to the parking lot and he got it out of his BMW and we walked back into the NAMM show that being held at the Congress Center. Definitely 1988

It's feels strange to dispute Kerry but the date was 1988 not 1993. I carried that Les Paul in the case (walking side by side with Kerry) back into the World Congress Center on a Sunday afternoon. Ken asked me to help Kerry get it from the trunk of his BMW on the last day of the '88 Namm show. Kerry had asked if Kenny Marshall at Zion could refret and set it up. The night before, Kerry, his wife and daughter, Ken Hoover of Zion guitars, Bruce Barr and myself all had a fine Japanese dinner. That's a fact. 1988 was when Kerry flew back to Topeka and reclaimed that Les Paul. Glad to have been a small part of that story

I mean the man had a stroke, so I’m sure he’s not 100% on dates and such.
@katesjanice

Agreed. The poor man had such a serious stroke that the docs were amazed that he lived. When he regained consciousness, he had no ability to speak, walk, or even begin to play a musical instrument. I am so impressed 13:51 by his diligent efforts at recovery. Now he writes and plays music again. His speech is not perfect, but incredible nonetheless. Such an impressive man with an impressive faith!

Kerry and I actually stayed at the same hotel as Jeff when in Nashville many years ago for a NAMM show....more than one individual approached Kerry saying, "Hey Skunk, can I have your autograph". :-)

Why are comments to Part 7 disabled? Steve was right to burn that anti-Christian Yhwh book.
@johnbowes
@johnbowes 5 жыл бұрын
Because I grew weary of some of the non-gracious, hate-filled, anti-Christian comments which would appear...not something I have to put up with when someone is a "guest" on my channel...as originally stated, this project was put together as an historical archive for Kerry's family...I chose to share it publicly as I thought it gave great insight into his public and private life....

This is a fascinating interview, but in part 7, after hearing the UFO story, why would he destroy something that could be of value to science? The story of the material of the book, I mean that seems like it could be important. I am an atheist now after living as a Christian for 50 years. I now believe science and evidence are how a logical person reaches conclusions. I have always loved Kansas, even the spiritual side, such as "The Wall". I have just come to the conclusion that there is not enough evidence to really have a conclusion on answers that we all seek.

Mr. Watcher consider this. Evolution is not possible because Darwin didn't know what DNA is. It hadn't been discovered in the 1800's. DNA is our genetic code. All life on Earth , bugs ,fish , horses, dogs ,and humans ect... have there own DNA. That is why there are no inter-animals running around. Things like cat/dogs, and bird/ lizards , and people/horses. It's not possible to cross two separate species and get some weird creature. Ok, now how does this effect the evolution theory ? Let's say you have a one celled organism like an ameba. It's swimming around in the water of an ancient Earth. That ameba has ameba DNA in it's nucleus. Because of that it is IMPOSIBLE for it to change into any other form of life. That fact KILLS the theory of evolution dead in its tracks !!! But the people of the 1800's , Darwin too, we're ignorant of the Science of DNA. That's why so many people think that evolution is a fact. They are ignorant. Sir , you should have paid attention in 8th grade science class. Of course evolution is the peg that ALL atheists hang their misguided belief on. I'm going to be praying for you Mr. Watcher. I'll be asking the One, True, Living God to soften your heart so this " Seed of Change " can take root and lead to your Salvation. May God Bless you sir.
