My Great Aunt who past away in 2020 at age 96, was in the 6888 Battalion. Clara Marie Webb. You will see her name in the credits at the end of the movie. I also have her autobiography of her time in the Army. In which she shares a newspaper clip announcing FIRST NEGRO WAC UNIT IN PARIS. ❤

Sorry, old white dude here, however, I am so proud of the work that these young women have done. I am not in a position where I will be able to see the movie, but as an old Canuck with a lot of cowboy in him, I was brought up in a culture where colour did not matter and these young ladies ROCK! Plus to tell this story that I am sure many have never heard of in such a profound way inspires many other young women and that is what we need more of. Less sex, violence, sci-fi, and more down-to-earth real stories of the heroic people from our past.

Sorry, but the story was already told in documentaries all over the internet about blacks in World War 1 and 2. All you have to do is search if you're interested. All Perry did was steal the info and make a melodrama out of it. It is truly a piece of garbage and typical Perry fashion but he always will have the support of the sisterhood backing him up. Did you also know one of the reasons these black women were formed in WW2 was to keep Black male soldiers away from white women in Europe? This movie is an insult to the real women of this story.
