"...normally people would not be disassembling this..." OK I confess I'm probably not normal, but I suspect the first thing I would do after taking it out of the box is take it to bits, and I think a fair number of the target audience for the device suffer from the same disease, so yes.. gluing or clipping those magnets in place would be a smart move.

I would like to see a couple of projects using the built-in colour screen. ILI9342C is the screen. How do I connect an MLX90640 FLIR sensor? It connects with I2C and generates a 32x24 infra-red image and the M5Stack needs to select a frames per second rate. Thx good video

I see you are complaining about the back plate being loose. Remember there are holes where you can use screws to pull all the stacks together.

Ah thanks for pointing that out, I was wondering about that especially for Smartwatch usage

It's well worth looking at platform.io instead of using the old Arduino IDE. It's a bit heavy, being based on Atom but overall it's a much better experience if you need to actually edit the files.

Thanks Rob, I will have to check it out.

@Kerry Wong I'd be VERY careful even before starting CONSIDERING use this. First, correct address is platformio.org, url that ends with.io is different stuff. Second, they do not care about basic pperwork, like "Terms of service". community.platformio.org/tos And It took me 10 min to actually dig it out. See that they did not even edit this template and left all "company_full_name" intact. Who known what is going on inside this "platformio". If they cannot do paperwork properly, how you know they will care about your data? (Hint: they're not. Even their own software cannot be trusted, see section 6 in tos)

Your presentation was unintentionally funny. In particular, the magnets coming out of their places. LOL.

I absolutely hate arducrap IDE and their pseudo-wathever it is, unicorn HAL but that can't stop me from using hardware like that with some real software. Will definitely buy one. Thanks for the tip :)

You can use Arduino without the IDE, for example using visual studio with the visual micro plugin. I still have plenty of gripes with how the Arduino software/hardware ecosystem works besides that, though :)

You can write the same software in arduino ide for esp32, cause it uses the same esp-idf sdk. I did port some projects for esp-idf to arduino ide without problems.

I don't buy from BangGood any more. No...not because of their name. Because they don't print negative reviews. Stick to Ali.
