i did a cut test in my full review, it did better than i thought it would but not as great as others, the test was a little different than some of my others as far as the cardboard used, but it was controlled, my opinion was it could be a little harder for more edge retention but still good, as far as mine goes

I got the Bel Air ($143) not too long ago and it’s a winner plus preferred carry over my Benchmade 945 ($186) and Hogue Ritter Mini RSK ($160). Bel Air has smooth action, great detent and a super slicer.

Nice video. I mainly went with the Bel Air because of the ultra-deep carry pocket clip. And I love it all the way around now that I have it. I got the newer black-out color and am thrilled. It’s the perfect EDC knife for me and I have 40ish pocket knives so this isn’t exactly my first rodeo.

I like the clip on the kershaw. The knife is completely out of sight which is a pro depending on where you’re at.

I like the new Kershaw and planning to get one soon. I do agree with the pocket clip extending over the handle. Might need to get aftermarket without branding..

Why not just have them all?! 😊 I have 20CV Bugout and Deka, bought on super sales. For the money spent I prefer the Deka, but the bug out really is a better knife. I think the SOG Terminus XR LTE should also be in this conversation of ultralight EDC on across bar lock, at 2.3oz, and only one with a flipper to boot.

That clip HIDE the knife, a blessing with an environment with knife-phobia. With an open sheath, the knife is protected. This knife is a strong candidate because of it. 👍👍

The pocket clip suits me just fine.

I wasnt aware of the Bel Air. I want to try out magnacut to satisfy the nerd in me and see what everyones hyping about. I definitely want to grab a Deka. Plastic scales dont bother me, its thin stock with good ergos and a good example of magnacut apparently. The kershaw also really intrigues me and might be something i get after the Deka. I was gonna try a Blur in magnacut because ive never owned one and always kinda liked the design but I like the Bel Air more I think. I read somewhere while looking into it that kershaw does run the magnacut a little softer like 60-62 I think someone claimed which is just below what Larrin recommends for his steel. So it should still preform very well without a major noticeable difference between it and the Deka which is now a little higher on subsequent runs.

The tests I’ve seen on Kershaw folders in magnacut have been very underwhelming. High 59s and low 60s. It really should be 61.5 at the very least. It’s really disappointing as the Bel Air is a really great design. Hopefully they address the hardness in subsequent production runs. After you get the Deka, I suggest maybe giving SPY27 a try. After magnacut, it’s probably my favorite steel for a user edc knife.

I think the Bel Air and Deka V2 are have superior steel and better/hrc with alot less money. The Deka are much better with after market scales

How about a slicer at a budget ...?

If you're trying to stay under 100 USD, I'd probably look into the Kershaw Blur, or something like the Civivi Vision FG if you don't mind going outside USA companies.

You forgot to mention the built-in blade play. That’s no good.
