One of my favorite new blades for 2013 that can do a ton of different jobs for you and can do it on the cheap. Feels like a much more expensive knife then it is.
GOOD- price, quality, size, 4 way pocket clip, frame lock, open assist, and good ergos.
BAD- 8cr13mov steel, smaller thumb studs, and heavy

One of my favorite Edc knives. Inexpensive and well made. I prefer it better than my expensive knives. I'm not afraid to work it...

This was the 2nd Kershaw I ever bought. Liked it so much, that I also got the ZT0566 which is pretty much the same design.

I just bought this exact knife from the Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Tennessee to replace my everyday knife it was time for something new Kershaw makes good knives I have a Ken onion one from 15 years ago it's beat completely to death and is still Sharp only been sharpened maybe twice in 15 years and the assisted opening still works good review hopefully my new one holds up just as good as my old one did

A friend gave me a Cryo II as a gift, which I greatly appreciate. However, I don't like it as much as my Kershaw Blur. My biggest issue is that I would prefer some texturing on the handles. Other than that, it is a great knife!

That's a really cool knife. Right away, I noticed the thinness of the knife, and despite the weight, I think the design makes it worth it! And also you make it sound like a great knife, this might just be my next knife! ;)

Thanks for your great videos. I bought a Cryo, Gerber Air Ranger G-10 and SOG Traction Tanto with a Camillus Glide Sharpener from Walmart last month. I like that they have the three basic locking mechanisms, but I love the Cryo, for all those things you mentioned. Weight is not an issue for me. Now I want a Cryo II, and my friend wants one as an EDC after seeing my Cryo. But I just ordered and am anxiously awaiting delivery of my soon to be primary EDC, a Cold Steel Recon1 Tanto Half Serrated. I also plan to get an American Lawman and ProLite Sport drop point and maybe a ProLite Tanto. But even the Crying have is hard to beat for aesthetics, design, feel, ease of use with the spring assisted and finger flipper and sharpness, especially fir a budget, cheap knife I got for about $10-15 below list price. Rick Hinderer did an awesome job on this knife and probably my number one recommendation for an inexpensive EDC, along with the Cold Steel ProLite models..

I love my Cryo II as well. My only complaint is I've only had it 2 weeks and today, the Speed safe torsion bar broke. I haven't abused it. Just flicking it open like i would any other knife. But I still think this is an awesome inexpensive edc option.

Based primarily on this video and a few others I now own a Kershaw Cryo 2. Very happy with it so far. Did take a couple of days to figure out how to pull out of front pocket without deploying the blade. The quick deploy thumb notch caught on the inside of the pocket. Subbed to your channel and following on FB and Instagram.

I've never had this problem. But I carry it with the clip flipped (it has a 4 position clip). Best way to carry a folding knife.

Hey, great vid. I did end up purchasing one of these but mine does not indicate what steel its made out of on the blade like the model you have, is that normal ? I did buy it from amazon so i do not believe its a counterfeit, or imitation.

Hey man great video! Just one question, between this blade and the tanto blade which one is the winner?? I really like the design of the tanto but everyone seems to hate tantos as EDC knives! Any advice from the expert??
@gideonstactical
@gideonstactical 10 жыл бұрын
Haha, good question Paul. This is my opinion, Tanto blades are only good for tactical stabbing tasks. That is what they were originally designed to do. You want a blade with good belly on it for good slicing. Tanto knives are harder to sharpen as well. Hope that helps.

Hey man thanks! I appreciate the advice and the super fast response!!! I started watching your channel thanks to this video! awesome stuff man! Just one more question, compare to the Gerber Instant which one would make a better EDC??
@gideonstactical
@gideonstactical 10 жыл бұрын
The Instant is using either 440A or 7cr17mov steel (basically the same steel) and the Kershaw uses 8cr13mov steel. I like the 8cr13mov. It holds its edge longer. I would not recommend buying anything from gerber unless it is made in the USA. Their stuff made in China is junk. Thanks for the support and welcome to the GT family!
