It's so interesting to hear Kesha mention about how this is the first time she's showcased her voice like that because it's just so /true/. Old bops like "The Harold Song" certainly still move me but "Praying" is definitely a new step for her vocally and I can't say that I'm not proud and happy for her. I was running across a documentary of a city called Slab City, the only city in America with NO LAWS, and I just realized that that's the same place where Kesha filmed her music video for Praying. Now saying a city with no laws might sound like a bad thing, but once you look deeper into what kind of people the city is filled with, and their reasons for living in the city, and of course the visuals you can definitely understand why Kesha would want to film her video there.
