I was in really bad shape and no hope. Kesimpta is very important in keeping me from going back to the nightmare at the beginning of my version of this disease. Half a year on this stuff.. I feel better than I have in years

I found out on my birthday that I have MS...It was a shock. I think I went through the same emotions as grief. I allowed ebb and flow of my feelings but it was and still is hard for me to say the word MS. Sometimes I call it "the thing" because I don't want to claim it. Starting Kesimpta a week before my wedding. This video gave me some comfort and confidence in my medication choice and my wellness journey. Thank you.

Great interview Damien. Dr. Hauser is largely responsible for modern b-cell therapies due to his work with rituximab in the OLYMPUS and HERMES trials at USCF. He is also famous for a Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) in MS (maybe the only MS specialist with a wikipedia page). He interviewed me once in 2012 when I was looking for a fellowship, and I have met him several times a conferences. He is very friendly and approachable.

Exciting news about slowing progression, THAT'S WHAT I NEED! Is there anyone taking Kisempta that also has been diagnosed w/ Valley Fever (Cocci) fungal infection? That's the only thing that has kept me from jumping from the 3 times a wk Glatopa to this med or Ocrevus. I chg'd to Gilenya in 2013 & that's when I found out I had VF & got a bad UTI & a skin infection. Inquiring minds are wondering. Kisempta sounds easier & more managable than the other one. Thx if you have any input.....

I have PPMS. I’m going downhill fast. No relapses. Radiological findings do NOT coincide with clinical signs in many people, myself included. Why does the doc say Kesimpta is effective in progressive MS YET there has been no clinical trials for PPMS? Also, doc says Kesimpta is also effective for treating progression (not just relapses) - so is he only referring to progression in RRMS? Does progression differ for RR and PP patients? Why no trial for PPMS?

Okay! "B-cells fight bacteria and viruses by making Y-shaped proteins called antibodies, which are specific to each pathogen and are able to lock onto the surface of an invading cell and mark it for destruction by other immune cells.". So the root cause of MS is bacteria or virus that is calling immune response leading to inflammation.

Would you please explain human cloning in this drug? Meaning who? Thank you 🥰
@DrBrandonBeaber
@DrBrandonBeaber 3 жыл бұрын
What he means is that the antibody is humanized and does not contain any mouse protein. This would in theory decrease the rate of injection reactions, though many reactions are related to b-cell depletion rather than a true allergy.
