USA - HOW TO REPLACE ROAD SIGNS, MOVE, CHANGE, REPAIR, MAINTAIN

Did you know there are over 500 Federally approved traffic signs in use in USA today?
An astonishing and unbelievable teamwork performed quickly and with high accuracy by Oscar and Jason (City of Orange in CA,USA)!
Orange is a city located in Orange County, California. It is approximately 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) north of the county seat, Santa Ana. Orange is unusual in this region because many of the homes in its Old Town District were built prior to 1920.
The small city of Villa Park is surrounded by the city of Orange.

These guys are amazing and perform a great teamwork everyday across the roads and highways in order to keep a high standard of traffic security.
Everyday, the City need to maintain, replace, or setup new road signs across the city. This is a very complicated task. The safety of the kids, people, pedestrians and traffic has the first priority for each county and city.

They both need additional PPE but at a minimum the guy who has the grinder needs the eye protection and the other with the jack hammer needs the hearing protection.

Did anyone call "Call Before You Dig" ? I don't see any utility Markings and there must be a ton of underground conduits, which lead to the nearby traffic control cabinet!

Great video. I use the same telespar posts. I use the aluminum rivets. Are those steel rivets you are using? They are tuff to get out.

I use rivets that are hammered into the holes in the post that match up with the anchor.

Sign maintenance looks like a afterthought in this city as they dont seem to equip you guys very well. That grinder is weak sauce. Also that truck doesnt seem ideal for sign installs. Must double as a signal truck. This took 2 guys twice as long as it takes me by myself to do that job.

Typical big city government wasting taxpayer $$$. Once upon a time, those "old" signs weren't illegally placed by criminals or gangs - they were installed by city workers who got their marching orders from city bureaucrats! Didn't they do their due diligence to make sure those signs were properly installed in the first place? Now all of a sudden they're no longer in their right spots? This video isn't a celebration of "astonishing teamwork performed quickly and with high accuracy". It is a testament to the ineptitude and carelessness of faceless bureaucrats whose main concern is to issue busy work orders from their offices to justify their hefty salaries and pensions.

The taxpayers' money was beautifully wasted on this job. Thankfully, in my country, the brain-dead fool that issued the original instruction and location to install the first sign and whoever then installed it, have to go out and remove the sign, make good where it was, and relocate it to the correct place - all in their time and at their cost. It fixes stupid very quickly.
