I’m so glad you put this out. I love Chinese. But I’m almost ready to transition from carnivore to keto.

Thank you...I just started keto. I was already making Chinese food at home b4 keto. I was thinking I had to settle for chinese being a cheat meal /dirty keto. Thank you again for your trial/ error...never would've thought about using protein powder as coating for frying chicken. So smart.

It works so well, you just have to work fast. I’m about to make another batch of that sweet and sour sauce to use on a meal this week. It’s so delicious! I was right where you’re at, thinking I would have to give up Chinese food and I’m so thankful to have a keto version!😋

If you like well coated chicken, add chicken.into the pork rinds and almond flour. Remove them and set aside for 2 to 3 minutes. Dip the pieces in egg wash, then into pork rinds and almond flour again. Remove and set aside to allow the coating to congealed a bit. Heat oil and then fry coated chicken. This is known as dry, wet dry breading method. This will give you a very nice coating layer. Since you're using keto ingredients a nice Krispy coating will not cost you in the carb dept! Good cooking all!

I love that General Tso's recipe. I have made it with coating & frying the chicken & without doing that. It is super delicious both ways. So if you want to skip the frying part if you need to save time you totally can.
@SuzAndTheCrew4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this tip! I figured it would be delicious without frying but glad to know for sure (because it is a pain in the butt to fry it first 😜). The sauce totally makes it! 😋

I have the same problem as this video. The breading comes off the chicken. I’m trying to think of an ingredient to add that prevents this.
@BostonBorn4 жыл бұрын
Try using a good quality imitation crab and add a little confectioners swerve to the crab Rangoon mix. That might be what you’re missing.
@SuzAndTheCrew4 жыл бұрын
That is a great idea! 😋 I was torn between using imitation and real so just used what I had on hand and while it was good it’s just not the taste I was going for 😊. Gonna have to try again and use the confectioners swerve, like you suggest, and see how it is. Thank you! 💜

For crab ragoon. Maybe the coconut wraps cut into small squares will turn out more like the real thing?
@SuzAndTheCrew4 жыл бұрын
Melissa Olvera ohhhh! I’ve never tried the coconut wraps? Which ones do you recommend? Those sound like they might work for pot stickers as well, which I miss so much!

@@SuzAndTheCrew I haven't used them yet but I've seen some Keto recipes made with them. They get them online. Thrivemarket.com is the name. I see google says walmart has some and also vitacost.com has them. I'm def going to try them. They just seem like a better option. They also aresaid to cook faster than a low carb wrap so you gotta watch them closely

I'm so glad you're feeling better, Suz💗 Brad's favorite is General Tso's Chicken, he gets it every time we have Chinese takeout. That second dish, I've never had before but it looks delicious! I'll have to write that one down so I can order it next time we're out. And of course I love sweet and sour chicken, and the crab rangoon looks amazing! I'm so hungry now😂 Well done, Suz!

@@SuzAndTheCrew I usually get bone in skin on breasts.. i pull the skin off when i cook them for shredded chicken. Then i have all that delicious skin for other things lol. I use my kitchen shears to cut it into squarish pieces... Then put my crab mix in and pull up the corners and just secure the 4 corners together with tooth picks. They're a little fatty... But so delicious and has that great crunch that you expect from a rangoon. It does great for egg rolls too lol .
